ok, so after seeing the post re: $850.00 flights and checking the dates... it turns out, we could totally do this!! total of $1700 aud for 2 x bne - lax on our dates for this trip would have meant a saving of close to $800aud. awesomesauce.
then i checked the vaustralia tickets i purchased a week or so ago for $1200 each... non refundable, and you pay a cancel fee of $350 each.
crap.
so i'm stuck with the flights with vaustralia for $1200 each. it's not a bad price... just not as good as i now know it could have been

but to cheer me up, i got confirmation from my wonderful DU Travel Agent today that as long as I book our Chacchoben Ruins tour as a port adventure direct through Disney, there is no way they will let us miss the boat.
The port adventure is supposed to go for 4-4.5 hours. and we are only in port for 4.75 hours. and there are logistics to consider. for me, this was a hugely tight window and i was stressing that we weren't going to be able to do this port adventure (and climbing the mayan pyramids was something that helped me sell this cruise to carlo in the first place) which was kinda the whole point originally of this trip.
so with that worry off my mind, i can rest a little easier.
did i mention that i've been off work for the last 5 days with the flu? not a cold, not a nasty virus, but actual flu. so sick. and work have actually been pretty understanding, since it was only a few months ago that i finally recovered from the worst 3-6 months of sick leave i've ever had in my life
the only silver lining here is that they upgraded our payroll system/leave application system, and it seems to think i have paid sick leave up my sleeve... who am i to contradict the all-powerful new system??
back at work tomorrow though, and back to saving up for the trip... we're slightly ahead of my excel spreadsheet predictions, so fingers crossed, we might be able to pull off this trip.
have also got my wonderful TA requesting seating for dinner for just the 2 of us, rather than at a shared table. i know that the goal of shared dining is to enjoy your tablemates and meeting others, but since this is *hopefully* going to be a very romantic cruise for us, i thought it might be nice to have a little dinner date each night... just the 2 of us in a nice restaurant for dinner, then a show
or the other way around, since we have late dining
i discovered gossip girl yesterday, so off to watch me some of that
