I'm going through ROFR. Jason at the Timeshare Store just called with a new contract. I told Jason, "look, I'm packing for vacation, and trying to rent some of the excess points you got me in my last two resales, so I'm not interested!"
He said, "well your notes indicated The Villas at Wilderness Lodge, was your first choice........"
I replied in a small voice, "well, tell me about it, but make it quick, I'm going on vacation!"
He said, "270 Points at VWL, August UY, all 2003 (Banked) & 2004 points available, and all 2005 coming in in August. No 2003/2004 Maint Fees either. All for just $76.00 a point."
Well we all know VWL resales have been scarce since the August price increase (although, there are more at TTS than I have seen in 6 months, currently)
I replied, "&^@$^$% you! Let me ask the wife, can you hold it for an hour?"
"Sure he replied," I believe he started spending his commission at that point.
I was hoping the wife would yell, or say are you crazy, three re-sales before we've been home even once!, but no, wifey says, "If you think it's a good idea....."
So I'm going to ROFR yet again. So if you have any Pixie Dust to spare....
And should I survive ROFR, I'll have tons of VWL points to rent for this year, (hopefully by Feb.) as I already have two DVC Homecoming visits scheduled!
There goes my trip to Vegas, sigh.....
And of course all my contracts are different Use Years!!!! Please Caskbill hurry up with your point management program!

), I will be the proud owner of 1100 points.
but in July or August, no great contracts were listed at TTS
(The only reseller I knew at the time).
Now the twist in all this, is that I actually purchased this through a business that I own. My original plan was to use it for my family, and offer an occassional trip for exceptional employees with any 'left over'
points. However, after talking to my accountant, I made it a 'business' purchase. I will reward each employee (of two seperate offices) a full week on their 5th, 9th, 12th, 14th and 15th year with me. (5,4,3,2,then 1 year intervals) with my family using any left over points. Now it all became a business expense. My original trip to WDW in May became a deductible expense because I toured the
I hope to do a lot of renting this year, and then use my points as intended next year.
Seriously, good luck with ROFR and I hope everything goes well for you!
for your family?
