For the ladies.... sunscreen and makeup?

I use a very high spf ....75 and then wear my makeup over it. I use Neutrogena products and they work well together. I use the Ultra Sheer Sunscreen with helioplex spf75 and then I use mineral powder foundation and such. It doesn't run and stays looking "clean". And I don't burn. I also use a lip balm with spf in it.

I wear Olay Complete moisturizer, which has an SPF of 30 (I think). Then I wear Neutrogena Mineral Makeup, which also has an SPF. No mascara, no eye liner. Just a hint of lip gloss. And my trusty tube of Burt's Bees that I keep in my pocket!

A lot of you mentioned mineral makeup over your sunscreen. Is that like the bare minerals stuff in the infomercials? I heard it was better than liquid makeup with an Spf at fighting off the sun. I'm very pale with a lot of freckles and I don't want to wear my floppy hat this year. So, I'm looking for the best non-hat solution. Thanks for all the responses!!

I burn easily so I use my makeup (gotta look good for pics :goodvibes ) with an spf. And then I use the coopertone aerosol sunscreen spray over it - doesn't sweat off and doesn't mess up my make-up going on, actually I think it seals it in place longer. It also works great in hair - I have to spray my part if I don't wear a cap or the whole thing will burn.

Good question! I put on my regular moisturizer (which has spf 15), then put on Clarin's facial sunscreen (spf of 40 or 45), and then put on my Bare Minerals foundation (spf 15) and mineral veil. Sound like quite a process, but it goes pretty quickly! The process was way more annoying before I started using the powder foundation. Wish I could kick the need to wear makeup in public (even when I'm in WDW and it's 100 degrees out), but I've just learned to live with my addiction for now. And I love the Clarin's sunscreen for my face - it feels smooth, doesn't look greasy, and doesn't make me break out! :thumbsup2 I also reapply the sunscreen while I'm out in the sun (over the powder makeup) and the makeup seems to stay just fine. I'm also a big supporter of wearing lipgloss with an spf - sunburned lips really hurt!

The sunscreen spray over makeup is an excellent tip, I'll have to try it!!

Yes! Mine is the Neutrogena version. I love it. I'll never wear anything else besides mineral makeup if I can help it. I hate the way "foundation" feels on my face. It also doesn't feel yucky if you sweat!

Yep just like the bare minerals stuff! Only mine's called pur minerals (with two dots over the u). I got it at Dillards. It is SO much better than liquid makeup-I'm never going back to that again! Plus, it takes like 2 seconds to put on, which is great for hurrying to get to the parks! :) I'd put the sunscreen on then the mineral make-up.

I just use a moisturizer with spf 45. I must say that as I rule I don't wear a lot of make up and even less when I am at WDW. That way I don't have to spend too much time getting ready - more time in the parks.

I generally don't use sunscreen. I rarely burn....however I do like the mineral make-up. Just a little cover up where I need it and a loose mineral powder. It doesn't feel cakey or sweat off all over your neckline.

I wear tinted moisturizer with sunscreen in it by Bobbi Brown. I also put Bare Minerals foundation over that if I feel like taking the extra couple of minutes, or I use facial sunscreen w/o a tint and then do the Bare Minerals over it. Bare Minerals/mineral makeup is fabulous!

I've also heard you can put a drop or two of liquid foundation into your sunscreen (after you've taken it out of the bottle for the day/put it in your hands) and that works pretty well, if you prefer a particular liquid foundation that doesn't have sunscreen in it.

Ladies, do you wear sunscreen under your makeup? Or, just a moisturizer with a good spf? That's what I do but I feel like I need more protection. What are your tips for a long day in the sun?? Thanks.

I wear a good moisturizer with a Good SPF BUT I also will carry a small face sun screen with me to re apply through out the day. Neutrogina has a good one that isn't oliy and won't really mess up your make up. I will gently re apply in the bathroom. blot with a paper towel and then put some powder over it. I've found this works fairly well!

I do. I use Clinique SPF 45 (I believe it's called "city" something...). Instead of using my liquid foundation, I use Clinique's stay buff compact foundation to get rid of the shine and even out my skin. Then I top it off with some loose powder.

oooh I love that stuff!!! I actually got some the last time I went to wdw (oct) and used that under my cover up!~ it works well!

I still re applied through out the day tho!

Wow, this is my exact regimen also.
