For the ladies...heels?

Hello! I'm getting ready for our trip on Tuesday and packing. This is my first time in Hawaii and we have a few fine dining reservations. Is it customary to wear heels or will nice sandals or espadrilles suffice? I'm from the NY area so forgive me if this is a silly question.

You could wear flip flops and nobody will blink. Our "nice sandals" only got used once, and that's only because our dresses were too long without them. VERY casual.
