FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER...I'm NOT GOING HOME!! UPDATE DEC.30 PG 74

Oh my I can't wait to see the Mine Train in person. I've avoided on ride photos and video because I want to be surprised, but I sure did enjoy the photos of the queue.

Glad you got to meet up with Katt. I think it absolutely counts even if you're picture-less. She confirmed it happened, so that should be enough. You'll have plenty more time to get photos in the future I'm sure.

I was that way with the new parade! I like having a little bit of surprise when it comes to new Disney things :goodvibes

It was fun!

love all the interactive queues they have built - and this one looks like a real winner! Thought I think official queue etiquette needs to be determined b/c what if you are in the middle of an interactive part but now there is a gap in the line - do you stop and move up or make people wait? If you are behind someone who has stopped at an interactive part for a long time and now there is a large gap, can you go past or do you need to wait? Ah, first world problems ;)

I love what they did with the cottage at the end of the ride and that what is inside has been procured from the old Snow White ride!

Love the updates!!

Glad ya'll enjoyed sea world, we're going in Sept and I'm honestly super excited, it seems like it'd be a lot of fun, and I LOVE sea lions lol!!

Traditions is something I am so excited for and will probably cry my face off :rotfl: can't wait! Lol.

So glad we got to meet up, even if it was for a short time lol! At least it was entertaining watching Jenna go crazy over seeing pins! :rotfl2: I'm sure we'll get to see each other again sometime soon

Another great update! I can't wait to read about the item on your DCP Bucketlist!

Hi, Just found your thread and read the whole thing..as a mom, this would be very hard leaving you there, we have quite a few friends that daughters were in the program. My daughter is 20 and upcoming junior in college. With her music performance major and taking so many hours, there would not be a way to work this in. We have heard many good and some negative experiences, it sounds like you are definitely one of the lucky ones with roommates, apartment, etc. Most of the negatives were from girls that were unfortunately with other CP members that were there to party only.

We will be there July 5-13 and would love to meet you. I will let you know a day or two ahead and check your schedule.

By the way, my husband is from Michigan, went to Western Michigan

Good luck, hope you have a magical experience pixiedust:

Decided to stop being a lurker and say "hi."

I am really enjoying reading all about your experience. I wish I had time to work this in to my college years, because it sounds like you are having a great time. However, I am now a teacher (5 years next year), only a short drive from Disney, and it is SUMMER!

Looking forward to reading more :thumbsup2

The fact that it's a dark ride and a roller coaster is really cool! It doesn't go super fast so most people should be able to ride it. You really do need to ride it once though in order to see the amazing animatrons! It's such a cool experience! I was definitely singing along!

I think the ride part itself will be super fun, but the claustrophobic me is a little worried about walking through the queue. How low are the ceilings? Since it has a mine theme, I'm guessing there will be very few places/no where you can see the light or at least see 'the light at the end of the tunnel'. ;) I'm not crazy about the queues for Pirates or Nemo or the elevator on ToT, but I force myself to deal with them for the fun of the rides, so I'll do the same with 7DMT.

With this ride the line kept moving pretty quickly! People would only play with the interactive option until the line moved up then join the line.

It was such a cool addition!

Thank you!

You will love the Seymour and Clyde show then!

It wasn't as emotional as I thought it would be but I did enjoy it!

It was fun!

Thank you for reading!

Coming up next!

I have slowly had issues come up but nothing can overshadow my love for working at Disney! Each situation will have its ups and downs and it's just how you look at it.

Sounds great! I get my schedule a week before.

That's awesome!

Thank you!

Welcome! Thank you for commenting!

Yay for Disney trips :cool1:

More coming up!

It's really not that bad! The line is very similar to the BTMRR Q and the ceilings don't seem low at all! The FP Q also has a big open door that you can see once the line moves up so you can see outside.

I don't believe that the Q is like any of those. Like I said the closest comparison would be BTMRR where it's dark but open and you can see the entrance and exit for the trains.

May 28-June 1

After my exhausting day running from MK to DHS and hanging out a bit with Sean, I decided I needed to treat myself :thumbsup2

One of the items on my bucket list was to eat at the Animal Kingdom Lodge so I asked Sean if he would like to go to Sanaa. I had heard great things about it and the 40% discount didn't hurt!

He came over and we hung by the pool for a bit before we headed to AK.

We are pretty horrible when it comes to directions but we made it over to AkL in one piece :lmao:

We were both starving so even though we were early we checked in. This restaurant is gorgeous!!

After seeing so many pictures of the inside it was very cool to actually be seeing it!

I also have always read rave reviews when it comes to the bread service and luckily they offered a gluten free version!

It was sooo good! Both Sean and I agreed we could have just had this for our meal and been content!

But we also ordered real food

Sean got the Lamb burger which he loved! I got the paneer tika and the seasonal vegetable offering. It was really good! The bread service definitely took the cake though!

Once the bill was settled we headed out to check out the savanna!

I have to admit I have a new found appreciation for giraffes! They are so beautiful!

We also explored inside the hotel and I found this awesome quote

So true!

We headed over to the main building at Jambo House and checked out the savanna there as well

It was very fun being able to cross this off of my bucket list!!

That night we headed to the Beach Club to meet up with the roommates and Trent to go to Beaches and Cream. Unfortunately it was packed so we ended up just walking to the Boardwalk Ice Cream area and I ended up getting this

So good!

The area was beautiful this night too!

May 29

This day I had a very early morning!

It was my first day of Turtle Talk though and there was a DISer in the audience! It was very cool having them come up to me and say hi! My count was now up to 7!

May 30

This was just a work day and after I was done I hung out with Sean for a bit.

This was the night Sean asked me to be his gf :thumbsup2 and yes things are going very well for the two of us!

We also had some people over to the apartment which was fun!

That person is Manny and then Kristyn and I.

May 31

I had another day of training and then we all went out to a local club in Orlando which Sean got us in to. :thumbsup2

I have tried to get a nice mixture of work and play in to my schedule but honestly it has been more work :lmao: I haven't really been to parks besides Sea World ones and I would rather rest and go to the gym then be out partying :rotfl: Yep I'm a special kind of 23 year old!

June 1

This was a horrible day! I woke up in time for work but with bus issues I ended up being late. Luckily management knows that there is a chance of this when it comes to the busing so they didn't give me a point. I have grown to hate busing and will be indebted to Sean after all of the times he has picked me up

The other thing that made this horrible was the rain storm I got caught in

Welcome to Florida in summer!

wow Sanaa looks great! I really need to get there at some point and that is very cool that they had the gluten free version of the bread service!

Oooh, so I guess Sean doesn't just like you - he likes you likes you! ;) Seriously though, that is great that things are working out!

Bummer about the buses - that seems so key to the entire DCP that you would think they would have like more buses than they really needed. At least your manager was understanding.

Still sounds like your having a ball. Honestly, the fact that you've not spent a lot a time in the parks (apart from work) may be a good thing. Considering you have months ahead, the last thing you want is Disney burn out. I know that sounds like like a crazy concept, but as with anything, too much of a good thing isn't always a good thing. I think you're being smart (even if it's unintentional, lol). Just hanging out on the Boardwalk or AKL sounds awesome. :cloud9:

My family and I went to turtle talk and nemo on Monday, June 9th. I looked out for you but didn't see you!

My 6 year old asked Crush if trash in the ocean would kill him...ha!

Oh the buses!!!! I used to HATE them. I had 5AM shifts since I worked in a resort and that meant catching a bus around 4AM!!! I hated them so much! But anyway, I'm glad you got to cross something off of your bucket list! And I must admit, I have NEVER been to Turtle Talk before. We had it scheduled last trip, but ended up having to skip it. Can't wait to read more about your program!

The bread service at Sanaa is so wonderful! I'm glad you got to enjoy the gluten free version for yourself. Your meal looks delightful.

It sounds like you are striking a great balance between work and play. I love reading about all your adventures.

I just found out that my niece attends Eastern Michigan University for her Phd. I knew she was somewhere in the middle of the country, but had no idea it was there. Small world. :goodvibes

I'd heard good things about it too.
And no, a 40% discount wouldn't hurt!

After seeing so many pictures of the inside it was very cool to actually be seeing it!

Deja vu?

Sean got the Lamb burger which he loved!

It looks really good, too!

The bread service definitely took the cake though!

There was cake? I love cake!

:rolleyes1:

We also explored inside the hotel and I found this awesome quote

I like that.
However....

If I'm going in for surgery and my surgeon comes in and says,
"I'm not going to wash my hands, but it's okay, 'cause the truth is I'm not very good with this operation."

I'm bolting.

And I don't care if my hospital gown isn't tied in the back, either!

We headed over to the main building at Jambo House and checked out the savanna there as well

It was very fun being able to cross this off of my bucket list!!

Was it to see the savanna from Jambo House?
Or just seeing the savanna other than in AK?

It was my first day of Turtle Talk though and there was a DISer in the audience! It was very cool having them come up to me and say hi! My count was now up to 7!

You gloss over your first day of Turtle Talk???
How was it????

This was the night Sean asked me to be his gf :thumbsup2 and yes things are going very well for the two of us!

!

Congrats!

Yep I'm a special kind of 23 year old!

Special.

I couldn't have said it better myself?

:rolleyes1:

This was a horrible day! I woke up in time for work but with bus issues I ended up being late. Luckily management knows that there is a chance of this when it comes to the busing so they didn't give me a point.

Is there a number of points before bad things happen?

The other thing that made this horrible was the rain storm I got caught in

:lmao:

Sorry, I shouldn't laugh.
Poor Caitlin. All wet.

Nope. I can't help it.
You look so...perturbed!

:rotfl:

Welcome to Florida in summer!

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Thanks for the update! Sanaa sounds really good (I think I'll have to give it a try).

And Discovery Day was one of my favorite classes (I can't believe I had it 7 years ago)

Hey hey Starbucks! Sometimes, you just have to live on some coffee.

Oooohhhh...I love those nachos. They're my favorites! And they're slightly spicy for me, but dangit, I will totally endure it.

I think waiting in line for the Mine Train is worth it at least once. I liked to see the details.

Mmmm. Electric lemonade. So good.

Sanaa is so good! My Mom and I did it one time on one of our girl trips. Great restaurant. You are so right on the bread service. You could eat an entire meal with just that.

It's totally okay that you're a special kind of 23 year old. :thumbsup2 I'm pretty special too. "Wanna hang out?" "No, I have to run tonight"..... :rotfl2:

Love the picture of the Boardwalk/Yacht Club area at night!

There's no way I would look as adorable as you after getting caught in the rain!!! :rotfl2:
