For the Anti-Bush Crowd

I now know all I need to know about you, I think

Sad, isn't it.

I believe wvrevy clearly stated that he did not read the message boards. So digging up something some idiot posted there hardly proves anything.

There's more than just one over there.

But given wvrevy's admission that he loathes Bush and just about everything he does, it's a logical conclusion that he wouldn't get banned from that site.

Personally, I think you are measured to some degree by the company you keep. Perhaps my post enlightened him to the company he keeps. He claims it is one of his favorite places, I wanted him to be aware that the people that created one of his favorite places also support the verbal vomit on their message board.

Actually his "admission" was "BTW...I don't hate the man...I hate what he's turning my country into."

And, tonyswife, when he said it was one of his favorite sites, I took it to mean he enjoyed the jokes. Surely one can go and have a laugh without being tarred by the same brush as the posters there? A lot of us laughed at the joke page that was linked. Does that mean we have endorsed the posts? Personally I would never have thought of looking at the message board had the link to them not been posted here. Once I looked, I did not like, and I left.

<<shrug>> JMHO. Personally, I wouldn't list a place that supports such a group of disturbed individuals as one of my favorite places.

The Reagan thread is just one of many, many threads of really sick crap on that site. These people rejoice in deaths during the war because it makes the President look bad and despair in things like the capture of Saddam and a recovering economy because it makes him look good. They are whacked out and I wouldn't associate myself with them in any way.

Um, I think you're missing the point. Wvrevy said he doesn't post on the message boards.

You're holding Wvrevy accountable for what other say?

But the person who liked the site said he had never read the message boards. Seems unfair to judge him by posters he had never even read. There are oodles of sites I go to that have message boards attached. It seldom if ever occurs to me to read the boards. I would hate to think I would be lumped in with people who posted things I disagreed with just because I liked the site.

From what you say about the posters they indeed sound whacked out. But know what? Some of the letters to the editor in the magazines I read are pretty out there. Time, to name just one. Because some of the writers to the editor of a magazine I read are nuts, does that mean I am wrong to enjoy the magazine? Even if the bulk of the letters are from nut cases, does that mean I am like them if I read the magazine?

I am doing no such thing. I don't even know him.

No? Then perhaps you can explain what you meant by this statement:

Well life is not fair, is it? ;)

Well, think of it this way, he said he never read the message board, perhaps he will re-think recommending the site now that he knows what kind of nutballs they support. Maybe he won't, that is totally up to him. Either way, I won't lose any sleep over it, there are nutballs on every end of the political spectrum, aren't there?

He also claimed that he couldn't find where they reacted with glee over the President's death, I was mere;y providing a service by pointing it out to him. I am a very helpful gal that way.

You read Time? You psycho. :teeth:

To some degree you are measured by the company you keep, it's not always fair, but there you have it. I meant exactly what I said.

I assume everyone on this site is a big Disney fan, call me crazy. :D

Well, perhaps you assume too much. ::yes::

I don't know how it can be said any more clearly......there is a difference between the site and the message board attached to the site. Perhaps all of the people on the DIS would like to be judged by the people on the DB...same site after all. According to your logic, everyone here is just like the worst offenders on the DB....thinks the same way, believes the same thing.

It should be noted that there is very little dissention and diversity allowed on that message board. This board is very diverse and civil disagreeemnts are permitted. One could assume (there I go again :) ) that pretty muh everyone on that site is mostly cut from the same cloth. And I hate to point it out to you, but the site itself, apart from the message board, is pretty extreme in it's radical left leaning. They did do SOMEthing to attract the people who are permitted to post on their message board.

If the DIS had a board that was as bad as the ones on DU, I would not visit this site at all.
