I was wondering if near the front desk was most convienient to the food areas, or pool. We have 4 year old twins, but we will have a car.
Look at a map and judge for yourself. The thing is everytime someone says one place is the best location, someone else claims another.
Congress Park will give you that view of DTD and the shortest walk there. It has its own pool.
Springs will give you the zero entry pool, activity center, and food court. Also there's a walkway to the ferry.
Grandstand will give you another pool, water play area, pool bar and shortest walkway to the ferry.
Paddocks is directly behind the Springs so it'll give you more scenic lake views, a bridge, good views of the swans, and has its own pool.
Carousel will give you front access to the gates and the emptiest busses. I believe there's a playground area and it tends to be the quietest. No pool or shared laundry though.
I'd suppose the farthest reaches of the resort (Carousel, far side of Paddocks, Congress Park and Grandstand) have the longest walks to the food court. Yet even then, it's not that far and busses run throughout the resort so you could hop on one if your legs are tired.
Here's a map you can study:
