Ok...for all serious steak lovers who have tried both, which do you recommend?

We have been to Yachtsman several times and have found it enjoyable. Never been to Shula's though. We all (4 adults) love our steak, but our teen could do without. Opinions (pro and con) would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Shula's is by far the best steak house on property. It is pricey since it's a la carte but the sides are big enough for a whole bunch of people.

I like to compare Shula's to Morton's and imo, Morton's doesn't compare.

Shula's clearly has the better "meat"--serious steak!!
But the service I found to be less-than Disney friendly (not bad, mind you, just not friendly) and the beer list leaves a whole lot to be desired..especially when compared to their excellent wine list.
But do go--I can personally vouch for the Porterhouse!!

I agree with Uncleromulus -- Shula's is great for the food. If you are looking for warm fuzzies from the staff, you won't get it there. But if you want a serious steak that is prepared properly -- you cannot beat Shula's. (I don't know about the beer comment since I don't partake.)

Yachtsman has - JMO -- declined some over the years. They seem to be able to prepare a steak one way -- charcoal black, dry and tasteless. My DW and I ate there in Nov. The meal was ok, but they grilled the life out of my steak. Now if you like chewing on a charcoal briquet, by all means go to YSH. Otherwise, spend your $$$ at Shula's.

We just ate there for the first time about three weeks ago, it was fabulous! By far the best steak I've ever had. I haven't tried Yachtsmen, but Dh has, he said it was "okay".
If you are into dessert, try the chocolate souffle at Shula's, you won't be sorry!

My mouth is already watering. This seems to be a no brainer. Shula's it is.

Thanks to all for the input.

About that beer list:
Most "adventureous" selection was Sapporo--all the rest were the "usual suspects"-Corona, Sam Adams, Bass, Bud, Miller, etc.
A compareable wine list would offer Thunderbird, Mogan David, and perhaps an adventureous White Zin.

You like Shula's, really? I would never have guessed that from your other posts!;)

:o :o

You couldn't??

Darn, I"m not doing my job!!! :teeth:

Shula's! Shula's! Shula's!!!!!

(In fairness, I haven't tried the Yachtsman yet, but I don't see anyway it could be as good as Shula's... I have tried Le Cellier, and its good and worth trying, but its not in the same class as Shula's.)

Shulas is better than the Yachtsman and much better than LeCellier!

The steak at Shulas is amazing, and while the staff is not "warm fuzzy, Disney-like" I find them to be courteous and professional, exactly perfect for the restaurants atmosphere!
I love it! :)

Laura :)
