DD has started shooting some photos for her uncles' real estate mag. She is shooting casual shots of area real estate agents. She can download the shots on a disc and sell them to her subjects. The question is how much to sell them for? Its only about 3-4 shots per subject. I figure about $100 but would appreciate any input.
Thanks

The photographer here charges only $45 for taking the photos in a studio and retouching the photo of your choice, then providing it to you on a CD in varying sizes for use in print and internet advertising, and in black and white.

$100 is WAY too much. You can also get your photo done here at WalMart and walk out with it on a CD for $10.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

I agree, no way on the $100. $25 MAYBE. And that's IF she has all the gear and the techniques to take flash photo's with the proper lighting for good shadow-free portraits.

:scared1: $100!! wow, unless she's a photog for the stars i think that may be a bit too high.

Um, before we can give a qualified answer to this question, we need to be sure we're all on the same page. You stated that it was only a couple of shots of each person, but you didn't say how many people would be included on each of these disks. One individual? The staff of an entire office? No way can we give you an answer without knowing this.

I'd say it depends on the quality of the shots. Here is a website teaching people the importance of a good headshot. http://www.lookbetteronline.com/

Here's a blurb I found about that place: "This is a service primarily for single people who want to look great in their ads, but the qualifications for pictures are all the same as those who need great headshots for building platform.

No grey seamless backgrounds. Great natural (hopefully) lighting. Decent styling. A variety of poses, camera angles, etc. that are all web-friendly. This apparently is de rigeur at Look Better Online. Shari's happy with the results a number of her clients have found there."

Maybe she can pick up tips there to make her pics better (if they need to be.) :) Or she can use as a sample of how to advertize her photos the way they do with the pics in the upper left corner of that webpage, showing "bad" & "good" shots, she may be able to create a niche in your area, for not only real estate, but web photos, or on-line dating services. But, I'd say price accordingly at the beginning as she needs to build up clientele & experience.
