? for people working in retail

Today in a Banana Repiblic dressing room I found a diamond and sapphire bracelet. I turned it into the cashier, do you think she just kept it? It was definately $. FOr anyone in retail do people often come looking for lost items?

With something like that...she probably turned it into the mgr who most likely put it in the store safe. It will probably be there until it is claimed. If it is not claimed by a customer, I would think the employee who turned it in would get to keep it.

When I was working at k-mart, the cashiers and floor workers ketp stuff they found all the time! It was unbelivable. Now where I work the people aren't like that.

At my store as far as I know (atleast I do) take things to the service desk or valuables to the Cash office (most secure spot in the store) the only thing I dont turn in is the McDonalds toys- cause well most parents "try" to loose those... Plus if they get found store wide they seem to end up in my returns (Im the Toy Associate)

I got almost all the Nemo set that way.. Only had to eat one happy meal

My problem working a post office window is this...I have lots of things left behind, glasses, notebooks, a CD player, etc. But, no one every comes looking for these things. However, people come looking for stuff that was never left there! And, what is with the keys? I have had several key rings left, and no one ever claimed them. Just how do they get home? Walk!? If I found myself walking when I knew I drove up, I think I could put 2 and 2 together and come back for them.

Someone turned in my daughter's winter coat at Garden Ridge. When I called they told me yes it was there. When I went to pick it up it was gone. They looked everywhere. I believe an employee's daughter is now wearing her coat. I don't know how some people live with themselves.

when i worked at a bridal shop, women were always leaving their jewelry in the dressing room. The most expensive thing we found was a diamond and pink stone pendant (which went unclaimed and I still have sitting in the box) and the most expensive thing lost and never found was a diamond heart pendent that broke from its chain.

Huey Duey and Luey - I was thinking maybe you should call the manager of the store today and inquire as to whether anyone called looking for it. That way, if the clerk did pocket it, the manager would be aware. I'm not accusing her, but would be curious to know.
