I don't live there, but I've worked in the New Orleans area and have spent quite a bit of time killing brain cells in the French Quarter in the past, so I'm pretty familiar with the area . . . LOL!!!
Were you wanting the best route to and from the airport? Or were you wondering about different types of transportation available?
If your driving, the best way to go is: as you leave the airport, follow the signs to I-10 and head East on that. You'll go about 10 miles, then just past the Superdome you'll see the Canal Street exit. Take that and go down Canal St. East towards the river. . . right before you get to the river, take a right on Tchoupitoulpes St. (Its right by Harrahs casino). Take Tchoupitoulpes to Poydras, take a left on Poydras, and go to S. Peters St. Take a right on S. Peters, go 4 blocks and you'll see Julia. . take another right and you're there. . .
If your asking about transportation for hire. . I'd ask the hotel; most of them have a courtesy van that will meet you at the airport and take you back and forth. If that's not available, cabs are plentiful and fairly cheap. As I recall it cost me less then $15 one-way from the airport to the French Quarter last time I used one, although that's been 3 or 4 years ago. . .
Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip!!
