We have used the discovery magic package and loved it but for our next trip I had my heart set on the deluxe magic or grand plan(gold or platinum now). We are planning on going in the off-season and am wondering if we would still be able to get our money's worth? (I mean it will be colder so would we really be renting water mice or parasailing, golfing etc...) We really enjoy doing all the little extras that the packages include but we have never used a package during the winter, which is when I am thinking we will be there next. Any opinions? Has anyone done a package in the winter months?
Thanks,
Dana

My DW and I did the Grand Plan for our 25th anniversary and it was wonderful. However, the all-inclusive meals soon got to be almost too much. We realized that 3 Disney meals a day PLUS a snack (!) was just TOO MUCH FOOD. We didn't want to waste the food, but after a couple of days we just couldn't eat that much.

On the up side, we did all the shows, rented watercraft, did an Illuminations Cruise (solo!) -- basically had a blast. For us it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We enjoyed it -- even though I think we both gained about 10 lbs. each!!:p

You mentioned that you'll be going in the off season, which month? Hubby and I went the end of Sept./early Oct. and were on the deluxe package and we loved it! We did almost everything, except for the watermice, but I feel we got our money's worth. We plan on going back in 2004, we're going to do another package, but this time we plan on parasailing more than once, dh will do the fishing excursions every other morning (he did it twice last time) and the watermice. Since you're from AZ, I don't think you'll be too cold, we're from CO and we were burning up! Whatever you decide I know you'll have a blast!:bounce:

Before we started going more than one a year we always did the Deluxe plan or the Golden Key plan before that. Our favorite time to do it was late November into early December....lowest crowds of the year and of course shortest hours. We LOVED it. I always planned everything to make sure we made good use of our plan. We'd do a park after breakfast, have lunch at that park or a hotel nearby and do resort activities and golf in the afternoon. For dinner we'd go to Epcot, one of the hotels, or the Downtown Disney area or a dinner show. It is so relaxing to us to have nice sitdown meals together as a family.
