Your DD may be too young for this, but when my girls were younger, I would tell them to decide their own punishment. They knew better than to try the "one hour with no tv" routine with me.
A lot of times, their punishment that they gave themselves would be harsher than I had in mind. My kids are great kids (they are teenagers, so.... not so great right now).
Like I said, this may be to old of a concept for a two year old. We did the one min per age too. I think it's an excellent rule of thumb.
We didn't have to punish too much, as they were well behaved. We missed the terrible 2's and 3s. I thought I had really lucked out. I actually had snowflake children, LOL
God must have been listening and decided to teach me a lesson. My kids 14 and 15 make me want to scream. OMG its horrible! My snowflakes melted long ago!
