We're headed to WDW in December, but have decided to arrive a day earlier than originally planned. The cast is: me, DH and DS7. It's our first-ever visit during the holidays. We'll be camping at FW the rest of the week.

So we just need a one-night hotel stay (will try with AAA rate, probably), but would like for it to be on site and fun for DS as he will have been in the car for 8 to 10 hours that day. So, if you were us,:

1) Which value resort would you pick?
2) or which moderate?

Note: We won't be doing any parks that night, just relaxing and resting up from the drive for our six days at the fort. We might grab dinner at another resort or bus to DTD for a few hours.

Value - Pop has neat things to look at.
Mod - I have always been partial to POFQ.

I agree with disneyfan19712006. We are doing our first stay at Pop in September -- choice was based on photos/reviews on the boards -- and are very much looking forward to it. Have stayed at POFQ in the past and absolutely love it! Great theming and my DNieces/Dnephew (my usual traveling companions) loved the pool. All of the rooms are close to the food court & main pool plus you can use the pool at POR if you want. And the boat to DTD is very relaxing and convenient after a day in the parks.
