we just got home saturday. for my money the best ride in any of the parks is still tower of terror. the themeing of this attraction from queue to gift shop has no equal.

i don't see anything close to the same fear in the faces of riders-to-be on any other ride at wdw; and, i don't see the level of joy and excitement on the faces of just-finished riders as i do at tower of terror.

convince me otherwise...if you can.

I couldn't agree more. RnR comes close at the initial launch, but my heart still races everytime I ride ToT; especially when you can feel the rush of hot air as you move into the elevator shaft.

i love this ride!!! every time i ride i get butterflies in my stomach. sooo much fun. and best of all....DS loves it too!!! :Pinkbounc

I Totally Agree.

But an up-and-comer is EE!.
The themeing is great all the way through.
It looks good "from a distance" and "up-close".
The ride QUALITY is first-rate. And the "uniqueness" factor is very high.

What EE lacks... that ToT has... is "unpredictability".
Since ToT is "never the same fright twice."
THAT means you just don't KNOW what's going to happen on your next trip to the 13th floor.

I couldn't agree more! The sad part for me is that I refused to go on the ride for the first fifteen or twenty trips I made to WDW. Looking at it from the outside was intimidating, and I alway said there was no way I was going up there!

Finally, after I rode it for first time, I realized I had made a MAJOR mistake. The theming for this ride is nothing short of incredible, and it really isn't that scary at all. But it sure is a lot of FUN.

I urge my fellow cowards to give this ride a shot--you won't regret it!!

I have to agree with this. I think it may be the best themed "thrill" ride in all of WDW, although it may come in a close second or third to HM and Splash for best theming overall.

The visual and audio special effects are stunning. I find the elevator lifts and drops at the end of the ride to be, honestly, a little bit anti-climactic after the tricks that ride has played with my eyes and ears up to that point. But even this bungee stuff at the end was made better by the use of the randomizer making every sequence just a little bit different.

I didn't ride this for years, because it frankly looked like just another cheap little bungee ride to me, from the outside. But I had no idea of all the stuff that goes on inside, which are what really make it great. Terrific ride.

im still so scared to ride ToT but i was wondering if u can go to the giftshop even if u dont ride the ride? where is it? thanks!

I agree. My family loves, loves, loves the TOT! We went on it over ten times last summer, and my stomach was filled with butterflies each time. I can't wait until June!

its a fun one, but still my favorite activity is to people watch. you could see people at there lowest common denominator after 12 hours in a hot park :teeth:

Sure.

TWO WAYS to get there:

1. Go in with everyone who is RIDING the elevator, but choose to take the exit before you board the actual ride elevators. That way you can see the pre-show (library) and the queue (furnace room) without actually riding the "thrill" part.
You'll have no trouble doing this. When you arrive at the bell-hop (not the one in the LOBBY, but the one after you queue through the FURNACE ROOM) tell her/him that you choose not to ride but wish to EXIT. (No big deal.)

2. (But I'd choose my first method over this) Outside, at the main entrance to ToT, just keep on walking past the entrance and in about 30 feet you'll come to the gift shop/exit of ToT. You can walk right in.

Me too!!!! I finally rode it on a dare from my older sister, and I came off that ride cursing up a storm! DH thought I hated it, but I was M-A-D that I had missed so many chances to ride such an awesome ride!!!

Totally agree with OP---nothing beats this ride. Nobody comes off ToT with that "too cool for the room" look.

Mount Everest so I can't say for sure but I love TOT. :thumbsup2  :Pinkbounc :wizard:
