I have a question for parents of 9 year old DDs. Would your DD be willing to dress like her 2 year old sister at Disney World? Would she at least be willing to wear matching tshirts (if no one else in the group was)? I think DSD would love to do it now but I am wondering about our Disney trip next year.

Our 9yo DD dressed to match our two sons everyday of our trip.

She has asked to still match them this year too.

My DD is 8.
There is no way she would dress like a "little kid or baby". Maybe if the entire family wore matching shirts or colors, I could persuade her.

My DD was a month away from 9 when we went last June. She not only dressed like her 3 1/2 and 1 yr old sisters, but also her 4 yr old cousin. She never complained once and it was very easy to spot all of them.:)

Oh, yeah, mine would do it. She wants to get matching Easter dresses for herself and her sisters who are 11, 3 1/2, and 1.

My daughter will be 9 in May and I know that she would wear matching t-shirts with her sister.

My daughter would upset if she didn't have one and her sister did. LOL

My 9 yr old DD will be happy to match her 4 and 7 yr old sisters in disney world. I actually just bought gray and pink matching tank tops for them today and we are going to get matching disney iron ons for them and they were all very excited. I'm sure she'll be happy to be dressed up alike in disney. Have fun. Planning their matching outfits is just the funnest.

My DD 8yrs old (will be 9 on March 2) told me NO Way would she dress like her sister (and her sister is 11 yrs old). :confused3

I think it depends on the kid. My nine year old boy will on limited occasions match his sister.

My two (9 and 11) would wear matching clothes every day if I would let them. Or at least the 9 y/o would be all for it. The 11 y/o is finally trying to break away from the "we have to do everything alike" mode. This has just been in the last few months, though.

I had no problem matching my girls last October. I think I would have her help pick out the clothes to be on the safe side if you are worried.

My oldest dd is 11 & youngest almost 2 ~ my oldest for sure would wear a matching t-shirt like her little sister as long as it was nice & not babylike!! My oldest is so clothes snobby too ~ she will only wear brand names ~ but I know she wouldn't mind dressing like her sister at disney for a day!!

Over the summer we had a 4th of July Jimmy Buffett party & I bought both girls matching hawaiian dresses & everyone loved it! Tons & tons of compliments! :)

My DD9 likes to match DD6 sometimes, but only if it is something she would normally wear anyway (no pink ruffly shirts for DD9). She also tends to wear things at WDW that she wouldn't wear to school, like her Tinker Bell shirt.

My 9 yr old would agree to match her sister as long as the outfit was her "style". She wouldn't be caught dead in anything pink, frilly, glittery or with princesses on it....... which is, of course, all that my 5 yr old will wear!

My then 10 year old loved matching her 2 younger brothers as well her older brother.
I was surprised the 13 year old son went for it but he did

Our whole family wore matching shirts to Disney. Now, she was 7 the last time we went, but we wear matching shirts when we go to our local theme park, too, and we go several times a year since we have season passes.

I think this really does depend on the kid. I'm really shocked DS12 will do it, but even he realizes how much easier it is to stay together as a group and find each other when we have matching shirts.

Maybe you could let your DD9 pick the shirt design and color? Then she wouldn't worry that she was getting stuck with something too babyish/too pink/too blue/too anything-she-didn't-like. Our whole family picked designs for our shirts, and everyone had to agree on everything. When we go back to Disney in 2010, we'll use most of the same designs. (WARNING: iron-on black Mickey heads get excessively HOT in Florida summer sun! D'oh! :scared: )

Good luck with whatever you decide. I will say that family matching shirts is a GODSEND for keeping track of kids in the park. As soon as we would start hollering DD's name, folks would get the idea that we were all together and she was never "missing" for more than 30 seconds or so.

Simply answer.... No, she wouldn't. None of our three girls dress like each other.

That is actually a big difference! Ask my DD if she would dress like her sister (2 years apart) and she would say, "No way!" Now ask her if she would coordinate with her younger brother 2.5 and she would say yes in a heart beat!

Either one of my girls would dress alike with their younger sibling as long as it was not pink, frilly or in any way babyish. If it happens to be jeans and the same color t-shirt then they wouldn't care. At home they would mind but not at WDW. Actually last trip they got a huge kick out of wearing the "Thing 1", "Thing 2" and "Thing 3" t-shirts.

Our girls are a few weeks shy of being 7yrs apart; both have B-days in June. Right now our oldest is 10 with our youngest being 3. We've planned to all wear sorta matching shirts this year; we're each wearing a t-shirt with one of the Pixie Hollow Fairies on it(except hubby he's Peter Pan) with our youngest also wearing a green tutu that I made her cuz she's Tinkerbell, oldest is Fawn, BFF is Silvermist, DSis Rosetta and I'm Iredessa(sp). Now, I did ask her if she wanted a tutu and she rolled her eyes and said "I'm good mom".

But I remember back in 2007 when the oldest was 8(nearly 9) and our youngest was nearly 2 and they matched a couple of days no problem. So to answer your question she doesn't mind matching with her baby sister as long as you don't make her wear a tutu.
