Since my Dell laptops dvd burner refuses to burn dvd's I've resorted to trying to use our Macbook until I get the Dell fixed. I imported my pictures from a trip to iPhoto- made a slideshow- imported the slideshow into iDvd then burned it. I was wondering if there is a way-using iphoto- to add title slides in between photo slides? Something similar to Windows Movie Maker or do I have to buy a program? If I have to buy one- any recommendations? I couldn't find a way to add anything except music but I'm fairly new to Mac. I do see where you can add a title and have it show up on the top left corner.
Thanks:)

you can use iMovie to do the transitions. Just open up iMovie. Then click on "media" on the lower right. Then click on "Photos" in the upper right. You should see your photos and your albums. You can just drag them into the time line on the bottom (it should say something like "drag your photos here"). Then you can add music, tranistions and titles to your hearts delight.

Once you are done, go up to "share" and choose iDVD. Then you can choose a theme and burn the project to a DVD.

I have used both Movie Maker and iMovie and I prefer iMovie quit a bit more. Its easy to learn, has tons of transitions and effects, and it makes the process so much easier. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I am certain you will get the hang of of it quickly and grow to love it quite a bit. If you have the time, just try experimenting with iMovie, it can do some pretty fun, slick things.

OK- I made one slideshow- very easy! Now....I'm working on another. I don't like the fade transition that is automatically put in between the pictures so I'm trying to add a different one. I have 500+ pictures on this slideshow and adding a transition one by one between each slide is not fun. I read in iMovie help that if you select a transition then go to where is says find like slides- it sounded like it would add that transition to each slide. It didn't seem to work. is there a way to add the same transition to each slide in one step? Also- this slideshow seems to always be rendering. It took a few hours this a.m. and again tonight as I was adding transitions it kept rendering. The 1st one didn't take anytime at all. I'm still adding the transitions:confused3
I can't seem to find a way to preview more than 1 slide at a time in iMovie but when I go to share to open it in iDVD(I think I can watch it there) it won't let me because its rendering.
One more thing....what is up with the iMovie trash? It has 6GB's of stuff in it- I've emptied it twice. I'm really not understanding that. Its all my pictures that are in the slideshow. I can delete them when its not rendering and it doesn't seem to bother anything but my hard drive space is going very quickly! My 120Gb hard drive only has 29GB's open right now.
Anyway- if you can offer any help on any of these issues it would be greatly appreciated. I'm usually ok at finding how to do things.
Thanks:)

I think I can help. However, I am currently in the car checking in from my iPhone. Once I get my computer up and running I will try to post a longer response. Or if you want to PM me with your email address we can do it that way.

To add the same transition to each photo all you have to do is select all the photos and drag the transition there. Unfortunately, it will take some to render the transitions but a few hours seems way too long but for 500 photos that may be right.

Anyway, I'll see if I can post more on it later. How new is your Macbook? If it has the Leopard OS we can screen share and see what's going on.

Thanks for your help. my email is scw115@comcast.net.
The macbook is from last July.
I've probably got this poor macbook so confused at this point! It is still rendering from last night. I must have really messed this slideshow up. Its taking up like close to 14GB of space when it should be like 2GB at most( I opened the hard drive- opened users- then get info on the slideshow). I think I'm going to delete what I've done and start over. I have to work from noon to midnight today so I'll mess with it tomorrow.
Any help muchly appreciated!
