I can't wait til next week...my BFF will be back from WDW! I can't wait to her about her trip. I hope she's having a better one than the one she took the year before last with her DH, her son, and in-laws. The in-laws made her and DH miserable. They didn't want to do much of anything. But her DH is kind of a stick in the mud about Disney too. I'm hoping he was better about it this year!

yeah, it really is. I felt bad for her. She's not only my BFF but my cousin too, and we grew up going to Disney World every other year or so. My grandpa instilled the love of Disney in us! She is a lot like me when it comes to WDW...just GAGA over it! Or should I say--like US--all of us here!

I think my DH will enjoy it even more when we have a child to bring there. He does love it (and tries to hide his love of it b/c it's not the most "manly" thing) but he has those times too. Toward the end of the trip he's tired of waking up that early. Whereas I'm like go-go-go the whole time!

It's going alright so far. Pretty quiet. I'm already ready to go home though. LOL

There's a "bachelor party" at my house this afternoon/evening which consists of a crawfish boil and beer. The groom doesn't want to go out. (his wife to be, my cousin, wouldn't allow him to go to a str*p club and I don't know what's up with him not wanting to do anything more exciting than eat crawfish) He insisted on having this party at OUR house. He didn't ask, he insisted. And my DH is not even the best man.

So when I get home there will be a least a dozen guys at my house (I think 25 were invited but not all will show up---at least they better not!)

I am going to eat some crawfish and enjoy myself despite the fact that it's a "guys" thing. DH said go for it--it will show the groom exactly why he should have done a REAL bachelor party
I want to eat crawfish, and besides, I have nowhere to go. My BFF is in DisneyWorld!!

Well it sounds like you should have an intersting night! He is probably scared to do anything so eating crawfish at your house sounded the safest to him! Poor guy! We are going to need a full report on tonight's events!!!

My cousin is in Disney right now too...it's bittersweet because I'm always happy for people to go but also get a tad jealous

Sure! Hi I'm Betsy (33 ) and I'm married and have a DD3 and a dog who is like a child to me also! I live in Pittsburgh, PA!

Oh and I just read an article this AM in our local paper about Lyme Disease...they had pictures of the different types of ticks (deer, dog, etc) and I definitely had a male deer tick on me.

Evidently the county that I live in (Loudoun County) makes up 50% of all the Lyme Disease cases in all of Virginia.

If a tick is on for more than 30 hours, then that's enough time for the infection to occur.

And I also learned that you can still get Lyme Disease even if you don't develop a ring around the bite. A telltale sign is the ring but not all cases get it.

Best way to prevent is not to have exposed skin. So I'm going to garden from now on in a Haz-Mat suit!


Seriously, I will try to be more aware about checking for ticks on me and the girls from now on...

Hi Michele (and everybody!). I'm Ann, and I'm a happily married mom of my husband. No kids yet- but we're probably going to start trying in the next few years. I'm from Ohio (not Toledo as my name suggests), and AM a WDW person. A crazy WDW person. Actually, so crazy, that I'm going to start re-doing our bedroom to look like a Swan hotel room. My DH thinks I'm crazy, but he's just as crazy as me.

So I am leaving for Orlando in 9 days with my four kids. We will stay with friends the first two nights and visit. Then we check into our stupid time share dealie on the 25th afternoon. I haven't done well in planning our plan of attack. We have 2 Disney base tickets each, and one day at Universal (both parks) each. Reservations at Medieval Times on the 28th for dinner. Time share meeting/seminar/sales push at 1:30 on the 28th. Middle of my day! That totally messes us up, but I have to go or risk getting charged more money. Never again. Anyway, I've been talking with Carla, a.k.a. Disney Planning Diva, and trying to come up with a plan. Any tips and tricks you guys can offer to help us save time and money? I know we are doing MK one day. The other park is up to the kids to decide- Epcot or MGM. Both have things they want to see. But they are going to have to agree or I will decide. Carla mentioned maybe doing one of those parks and making the evening a DTD evening for dinner and putt putt and shopping. Anyway, I'm getting down to the wire and wanted to solicit ideas from the pros!

You certainly came to the right place.

And I think you misunderstood what I was saying about the DTD thing.

What I meant was when you are at the parks just stay at the parks all day and eat snacks/CS meals those days. Like, go to MK on the 26th and go to the other park on the 27th. Then maybe on the 29th you can do the Winter Summerland putt putt/TRex dinner and DTD shopping that day. That way you're just in one area all day and you get the max out of your time at each park you go to. Does that make sense? Not sure when you want to go to US. Maybe you can do the DTD putt putt day on the day you have to go to the sales pitch so you're not missing any time at the parks at all because of that.

Yeah and what really used to tick my Dad off and frankly frosts my cupcakes is the fact that we have to ration water in order to send water to southern California. The farmers in the central valley have to fight to get water, yet in southern part of the state they all have pools that are full. Umm, I am gonna stop now before I lose it totally.

She went with my aunt(her mom) and her fiance and his son. And her DH and her almost 7 year old. I bet her DH is the one that made it so disastrous...

It really saddens me to hear that she had such a crappy trip AGAIN.

I told her I was sorry to hear it and now I just got another text
"Well my mom is just as bad as {DH}. If he isn't being an @** she is being a b****"

That totally sucks.

I just read your blog...so a black tea bag...does a "mint Medley" or "plantation mint" tea bag count? That's all I have...oh and a Candy Cane tea bag too, leftover from Xmas last year.

well I've used Orange Spice Black Tea, and that worked, so I would assume mint would work too... and it would smell good !!

Haha, the Swan is wonderful. My absolute favorite!!!! Though a Swat hotel would be funny....and noisy! I'm from Columbus, born and raised. We're one of the crazies that wears OSU gear every day of the Dis trip to see how many O-H I-O's we can get. Last trip we were in the 20's on a 4 day trip!
