With much discussion on what shoes to wear in the parks and what type of kind of clothes to bring I have a somewhat personal question to ask..what brand of underwear does everyone buy? Now I am about to turn 50, a grandma and would like to find some underwear that doesn't creep up, you know what I mean! I do not want throngs, that is just twisted, but something that will look good with my shorts, you know no lines showing but comfortable..sorry personal question but I find these boards to be filled with so much information, thanks everyone and I apolize to any men out there reading this...

I'm probably going to regret getting into this one, but I gotta tell ya....don't knock the thongs until you've tried them! ;) Not to put too fine a point on it, but you avoid the 'creeping up' sensation (they're already there!) because they're cut so small in back that you don't (ahem....) notice the feeling after a while. I wouldn't be without them.

Ok...since you aren't likely to run out to the nearest thong shop, just be sure to find 100% cotton. Florida is hot, you're going to 'glow' (ok, sweat), and cotton will be the most comfortable choice. I have no idea what brand will best suit your shape, but I do know cotton will be essential.

J. C. Penneys has some wonderful underwear of all styles. I have shopped at several stores, including Victoria's Secrets, and I have found JCP to have the best selection for what I feel most comfortable in. :flower:

Since you asked.....

I find all underwear very uncomfortable. They all ride up (wedgie) stick to your clothes making a velcro like effect. The silkier the underwear fabric...the bigger the wedgie...if it's not made of cotton, it's even worse as the fabric does not breathe which is just horrible. Underwear is just too hot..and most underwear is very unflattering by not not having the right cut and actualy maing you look worse You could wind up with quad butt or tea bag butt or the toasted marshmallow falling off a stick butt with love handles on the side or if your bloomers shift the dreaded big cheek little cheek. The stuff that holds you in here and there is just WAY too hot and uncomfortable to wear in the park. I have also tried thongs of all kinds and just cannot get used to the "floss" effect. I also don't like how they look from the back when you bend over...just too Britney Spears for me.

I personally do not wear underwear...it is so much more comfortable, no wedgies, no lines, no riding up,no flossing, no clothes clinging...

If I do have to wear it..when I am wearing a skirt .....I wear some nice skin toned mesh underwear..I think Jockey makes it. It's the closest thing to wearing nothing that I have found. But it is not wedgie proof, so it does not work with pants or shorts. I really don't like having having my knickers in a twist.

Just try not wearing underwear for a day and see how great it feels  No wedgies, no lines, no puckers...just breathable comfort.

Sorry but you did ask :earseek

PS...I do however always wear a bra - LOL!

:earseek: Me too, always willing to help a Dis'er willing to ask!

Believe it or not, go to Victoria's Secret - I am an xl so bear with me!! lol

They have this style of undies that have lycra/spandex, they may be that new fiber that breathes too (I was a cotton only girl btw!) I dont think its their angel line - you just go and feel!!! ( :rotfl: sorry I dont remember the name, I just know 'em when I see 'em) You see dh is a runner, and he has to have the certain brand that doesnt ride up, and that 'wicks' away moisture, well, when I discovered them at VS - I couldnt believe it!! They are the more expensive brand, maybe 3 for $25 on sale??? (3 for $30)

Now this brand does come in all styles, thongs, bikini, hipsters - I've always loved bikini because it goes under my belly sag ( :earseek: tmi)

I'll go see if I can find a link!! Well, didnt find them there... lol

good luck, you cant imagine how many times I've almost deleted this

I like wearing boyshorts, bikinis and thongs. Those are the most comfy to me personally. :teeth:

Pop Daddy....yer outta here! LADIES ONLY, Mister!! :earboy2:

I agree with the VS choices. They do make the most comfy unmentionables. And while I can't personally agree with the no-undies option when it comes to wearing shorts (I tried it a few times and felt like I was going to crawl straight up the wall!), I did get a huge laugh out of the descriptions associated with various underware performance (toasted marshamallow falling off a stick? HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW!!!!! :rotfl2: ).

Pop Daddy, are you still here? Now, GIT!!

Try the Hanes Her Way cotton panties not the hi cut. They are 100% cotton and do not ride up if you buy the right size!

There are briefs with a little spandex in them that I love. Can't remember which but definitely either haines or jockey.

I personally love Microfibre underwear. I find them very comfortable, you almost forget you have them on. I also find they are a little more supportive than just plain cotton underwear. They are a nylon/spandex/cotton mix. The thing I enjoy about microfibre the most is it doesn't tend to ride up and give you wedgies like most underwear, and you really don't get the underwear lines from them. They lay pretty smooth.

My favorite brand is called Secret Possessions, but I think they may only be available here in Canada (I've only found that brand in one store). I've found microfibre underwear elsewhere as well though, including La Senza, so I'm sure Victoria Secret would have something similar. (Sounds like eeyore45 was describing something similar.) I would even check major department store chains, because microfibre is growing more and more popular, and I'm sure they're bound to carry something similar.

Once you go thong you'll never go wrong. For "sexy" I like Victoria's secret but believe it or not Old Navy has great cotton thongs and they're not real expensive. Never thought I'd be talking about thongs on a disney chat board :earboy2:

I think those are the same ones I get. Body by Victoria. I get the high cut XL and they come in lots of colors. I got hooked on these when VS sent me a coupon for a free pair. So I got it. I got another coupon and got those, too. Now that's all I wear. I think they are a microfiber material or lycra and spandex.

I used to wear the Jockey brand, but I like Body by Victoria better. You can get them online or at the store.

For bras, I get them at Wal-Mart of all places. I get Bestform jogging bras, all cotton (unfortunately, they get moist when I sweat), racer back, but they only cost about $8 each. I always hated hooking that darn bra closed and these pull over your head. I love them. No problems with bra straps falling down or cutting into your shoulders. Not adjustable at all, but very comfortable. No wires either (I hate wires in bras).

By the way, I'm 55.

I go with Jockey high cut or Hanes Your way high cut. Have not had a problem with "wedgies" with either. Deb, I am going to have to try those "Jogging bras". I have never liked any kind but this might be a solution! Anything is worth a try that gets away from the straps!! :cool1:

I am 59 by the way!! Feel about 25 most days!! That's what Disney does for you!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Victoria's Secret makes really comfy mesh undies. They come in all different styles, and are super light and stretchy. Those are what I'm taking to WDW next week myself :) good luck

I can't believe I am commenting about bras on the DIS boards, lol. Anyhow, go to Walmart and they have Hanes sports bras with over the shoulder straps, not the halter back kind. They run from very small up to I think 46 D??? Anyhow they are great. Everyonce in a while I decide to be a big girl, lol, and get a regular bra :earseek: , yikes! I hate them, I hate the straps that never fit right and the bras themselves that are so horribly uncomfortable! Pop Daddy you'd better be gone, lol. :rolleyes1

THONG! Victoria Secret! SEXY! :teeth: SIZE: Small COLOR: HOT FIRE RED!! with lace and a ribbon on the back!

I wanted to wear the edible kind from ~Lover's Lane~ Hmmm.. the cherry flavor! But I figured it would melt in the HOT summer days.. and I will get all sticky! :rotfl:

Amen, sista. After my first pair, I wouldn't buy anything BUT thongs! I love them. (Yes, LOVE them!)

VS thongs are all I will wear.

As many posters have stated, once you try them you will wonder how you wore anything else.

Another Jockey French cut (hi-cut) or Hanes your way high cut. No way are you going to find me in a thong...they just don't feel right on me. More power to you ladies that find them to be comfy!!!
As far as bras go...I have found that Champion makes a nice summer time bra...it's a regular style bra but the fabric wicks that moisture away from you. Being on the more endowed side, I still haven't found a sports bra that fits me...still in the underwire age!!!
