:) Has anyone read this book yet? I started reading it last night and it was really hard to put it down.

Sharon Rocha is of course, Laci Peterson's Mom.... the book is about Laci and about her murder and the trial process.

Some really nice pics I have never seen before of Laci, she is absolutely so vibrant and beautiful in all her photos.

Scott Peterson <---

That nasty Peterson Clan <---

Mark Geragos <--- : :rolleyes2

Sharon & Laci <----

I just read her article in People magazine. There is something very dignified about her.

I sure want to! It never ceases to amaze me at how the beautiful and vibrant people seem to always end up victims in a murder....

We picked up the book last week. DHs reading it now. Sharon was on Nancy Grace for the full hour on Tuesday night. Very dignified lady!

Yes, I'm reading it right now. :sad1: I've also read Amber's book, Catherine Crier' book and Anne Bird's book. :(

I have seen Sharon on all the talk shows this week and I followed that story/trial way too close if you ask my DH.

I still think about Laci and Conner and it breaks my heart knowing that these murders were so unnessesary!!!

every time i hear laci's name (or any of the key players in this situation) i still get shivers down my spine.

we live in close proximity to modesto and share the same local news channels, so on christmas eve when this was not a national news story it was the lead story on our stations. i just remember glancing at the news while making dinner and seeing it. i said to my husband "my god honey, that woman was murdered and her husband had to have done it". he was like "how can you say that, they say she's missing-there's no evidence anything bad has happened to her". i reminded him of the weather that day, asked him if he would have considered going out to play golf...then i reminded him of a few years ealier when i was at the same stage of my pregnancy on christmas eve-i said "when i was that far along would you have left me alone to do ALL of the prep. work for a big family get together" he said "i think you would have killed me if i left you alone to go play golf at that point period!".

when scott changed his story to fishing at the berkely marina it became more evident that all was not right-no one around here goes down that way on a holiday unless they HAVE TO-the traffic and fog are nightmarish. and the idea of fishing alone in a small boat in those waters-that's why someone could def. say he WAS there-cuz noone in their right mind does it.

many of our neighbors drove to the peterson house and put flowers and stuffed animals on the lawn-this was a situation that we watched from day one and still see with regularity on our local channels (with regular updates on how scott is doing in jail, what's going on with the life insurance money-he's fighting to have it held until all appeals are exhausted, so maybe 30 years? while it could go as her family wishes to a charity to help families in search of missing loved ones-)

i will probably get the book, but i know it's going to bring up some very deep emotions.

My gut instinct told me that Scott did it too after seeing the first news coverage of it - he was way too cool, calm and carrying on with his life talking on his cell phone - who in their right mind would act the way he did if their pregnant wife went missing on Christmas eve?????

I have no interest in reading the book. I guess the trial publicity was too much for me.

The story of Laci and Connor is so sad. Such a beautiful vibrant woman. :sad1:

There's no punishment painful enough for Scott Peterson.

I have not read the book but I read somewhere (People??)that where her Mom said she was happy when the bodies were found because the first thought that went through her head was that Connor could finally be put in Lacis arms and laid to rest and that Laci would be happy finally to hold her baby and then she remembered Laci had no arms.....Just the thought of that kills me. It was a horrific story but to hear that just was so, so sad. Why couldnt he just divorce her or leave her.....sick, sick, sick...........

What really touched me was the part where the mom told about the dream she had where Laci came back. how anybody can say that there is not a heaven after reading that is beyond me

We live in NorCal too and I remember being at my moms house that Christmas Eve and seeing the story and Scott being interviewed with Laci's parents and both my mom and I looked at each other and said something is not right with that guy. You could just see something in his eyes. :sad1:

I am almost done this book, it is hard to put down. Sharon Rocha has such class unlike Scott and his dysfunctional family

I read Amber's book and Anne's book. I had no idea Sharon Rocha wrote one...I will definitely be looking for it on my next trip to the book store.

Yup, she did

I loved Ann bird's book, it was a real eye opener into Jackie

I haven't bought it yet, but I intend to soon. Such a senseless tragedy and ruined so many lives. :( Like dturner, I probably followed this case too closely, but for some reason I couldn't let it go. Perhaps, because I have 2 dd's.......

anyone know a good online source for these books?

Hi, I bought my copy at Amazon. You could also just check the book section at your local wal mart, or book store.

I read the People magazine article about it. There are several photos of Laci in there, but my favorite is the one where she looks to be about 2-3. She's wearing a little tshirt, and dancing the way little kids do. She looks so joyful, and energetic, like she could leap right out of the picture. She must have been a really fun person to be around.
