For Kerry Supporters Only

I work for a very liberal university and was on campus a few weeks ago and someone thought I was a member of the young republicans.
I guess the argyle sweater, headband, penny loafers, and pearls made me fit in :p

ROFL

As I read through some of this thread a song came to mind (I apologize if this has been noted before) an Eagles classic.....Don Henley sang it ...I think...

hmmm hm hmm hmmm....

Can anyone name that tune? :smooth:

Back from the Kerry Rally ....it was a great time! It was very well attended and very well planned. The music and cheering was very energetic. Kerry looked great and was also awesome to hear. A guest speaker mentioned having to be "retrained"after years of college in order to get a job and an audience member yelled "retrain Bush!" everyone broke out in that chant and even John Kerry laughed.
I have many pics downloaded and will try to figure out how to get them posted here.

Good morning from the overcast Golden State, all you true believers, defenders of democracy, lovers of liberty, fighting for freedom and campaigning for civil rights, kings and queens of this great country, supporters of John Kerry, Democrats.

It really is too bad that some people cannot respect a simple request. No, we do not "own" this part of the board nor can we keep anyone out or force anyone to leave. That's why it's a simple request and why it's such a shame it can't be respected.

And no, I don't know what's happened with Dems posting in the Bushies thread because guess what? I don't go over there! Ever! It's for Bush Supporters Only and I'm not one!

Holy smokes! What's that? Personal restraint?

As for the question of whether or not we'll all go back to being Disney fans after all this is over, I say "of course we will." Unless you people hold grudges over political viewpoints like none I've ever seen. Majoring in Political Science in college during the last election was interesting... leading up to the election, debates, discussions and arguments were heated, heated, heated!

Afterwards... hard feelings aside... those guys were still my drinking buddies.

Everyone chill out. Once Kerry walks away with this election, we can all go back to discussing which is more annoying... the Tiki Room or Small World :smooth:

Don't get me started on the Tiki Room... those "tikies" are the worse. Guess I'll have to post on the Small World thread.

Now there is a topic that can get me so heated... :rotfl:

I just got caught up reviewing the Bush Supporter thread and was laughing. So many are acting all "high-minded" about how we are behaving on this thread. It's as if they do not recognize that it is some of their posters that are stirring up trouble over here... which they then whine about when we don't "play nicely". I was tempted to post that Bush supporters who have posted here are treated courteously if they have been courteous. It's only when they start to make derogatory comments that posts in reply have become heated. I wouldn't blame the Bush supporters for doing the same if a "troll" posted to their thread in an obvious effort to get a heated response. Oh well, I've resolved to not post "over there" as I know it will do little good to try to point out the things they complain of have been done by members of both sides.

Oh well, back to the plans for getting out the illegal votes. Since I was gone this weekend (and was able to enjoy great conversations with members of other political parties), please let me know if I missed any important memos or announcements. I put in my order for the coke and pot but wonder now if I may need to increase the amounts. ;)

(Note for Bush lurkers: Please understand that the last paragraph was humor. I know it may be unfamiliar to you if you've only been reading the "other side's" thread but if you hang out here long enough, you'll soon be able to make jokes of your own. Really, it's easy and doesn't hurt at all once those cheek muscles loosen up a bit... )

One thing that I don't understand about the Bush supporters, is the attitude that Bush will keep the military "employed" and fighting, so to speak. I come from a military family and for the life of me, I don't get this. So they would rather have them in harms way, getting shot at, as long as they are employed? :earseek:

I would rather have them safe. What about the ones who aren't lifers? Wouldn't it be more prudent to worry about them having a job when they get out?

It boggles my mind.

Nice to see you LisaZoe, and the others.:sunny:

LisaZoe, I think we're moving on to flu shots as a voting bribe. :p
My Dad is thinking of opening a hot dog and voting station on the Canadian border ;)

(hanging head in shame) I admit it, I've lurked over there - not posted, but lurked. It's like a train wreck...

Now I need a pick me 'up...do we have any of those brownies left? I don't think the flu shot will give me that same happy feeling...

For those that are able, please look at my Kerry pics from this AM on our AOL screen name profile under pictures. Screen name is "barnperry"

Here you go Sweet Pea...

Enjoy! ;)

I haven't looked on the Bush thread either....why on earth would I need to do that? God knows there are a gazzillion other Bush supporter threads disguised as something else floating around here. I loved the one from the other day that asked if we "Bush haters" condoned his assasination. LOL. Commie heathen murderers we must be and all, since God forbid we aren't voting for him.

Anyway, I came across this pic, and my first thought was of all these threads depicting Kerry as Herman Munster:

Herman Munster indeed! This is a man who knows how to wear a suit. :) I thought he looked so Presidential in this pic, thought y'all would like it too. :)

He does look very handsome in that photo. Bill looks very good as well.
Did anyone see the interview with Katie Couric this morning?
I caught part of it - he was very commanding and charming. I also saw the Dick Cheney one. He's a very good speaker, but man oh man he reminds me of the troll under the bridge.

You know what they say:
"When you mess with Polynesia, The Tiki gods will squeeze
ya!"

I much prefer:
"It's a world of laughter,
A world of tears;
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears.
There's so much that we share
That it's time we were aware.
It's a small world after all."

Kerry and Clinton are in Philly today for a huge rally. Unfortuantely, due to work, I could not stay, but in the short time I was in the area there were ten of thousands of people (there's no way I could of seen the stage!) stretching far and wide. It was great being with all those Kerry supporters! I met some great people and got on some mailing lists.
