OMG...I am laughing so hard here. I took a look at the other thread. That desperate little man could not get us to play his ridiculous game, so he went whining to another thread to tattle about how wicked we are. He is quoting the things we said to him, and of course not mentioning the fact that he was only here trying to stir up ****. How very sad. This poor man has no life whatsoever.

So, no! Bush is lying when he says NCLB is fully funded. It isn’t, no matter how nice a 34% increase sounds in a 10 second sound bite.

I see the effects of attempting to implement NCLB everyday. Anyone who actually deals with it knows what damage it's doing.

And now....Please go back to the Bush thread and tell them how mean and rude we are here. No one is over there debating with them and it would be nice if the right would do us the same favor.

To a Republican, if something is getting $5, but it really requires $10, they crow if they give that something $7 and call it an increase, which it is. However, the something is still underfunded, which to a Republican translates into "slowing the rate of growth".

You can't make this stuff up.

I agree with yout sentiments, what were they thinking ?

I really did get the "squickies" when the song was being played, Bush was on the podium, and the line "you're still the one I want to talk to in bed" came on. Geeeez.

Yes, ignore is a wonderful thing. And the funny thing is, the two people who keep trying to horn in here, are the only two people I have ever put on ignore, and they have been there since the old DB days. The "desperate one" has also brought up the faux debate "who do you think the terrorists would vote for , Bush or Kerry" at least 3 times. As if "What Would Osama Do" is supposed to be a guiding light.

Looks like the "desperate one" finally got his answer today: Osama Bin Laden doesn't care.

Actually now that he's got some supporters, he's now moved on to posting quotes from others as the "most outrageous". Took everything in me not to post "yeah buddy, it's not you, it's the rest of the world". Has anybody else noticed, out of 112 separate posters on this thread, he's #10 as it relates to volume with 43 posts. If he's so offended, and find the remarks made to him so outrageous - sorry "over the top" in his words - why does he keep coming back?

There was a great NPR story about a county in Ohio turning away all the Republican challenges that were filed. They were filed on the basis of returned mail. For example, if there was mail returned from a resident, that resident was challenged as not actually living at that address. The Republicans use individual constituents to file their claims, and these constituents were then asked questions about their specific knowledge of the democratic person targeted not living at that address. None of the Republican constituents had any individual, specific information, and all of the hundreds of challenges were thrown out. The Republican citizens that were being "used" were basically humiliated by their party. One democrat targeted said that she refused Republican mailers, thus resulting in returned mail. Another democrat said that men and women were fighting and dying in Afghanistan and Iraq to give people the right to vote, and Republicans were trying to take away HER right to vote.

It was a powerful story if anyone can find a link.

OOOHHHH, did I just make a big mistake. I have resisted temptation of reading the Bush thread. But I caved and now I found out that because I am over 30, and a Democrat, I have no brain. The only thing that keeps me from being angry about this is the fact that the same people that are posting this are saying that many of us are mean, nasty and rude to them just because they are not voting the same way.

Another important story out of Ohio that went along with the other is that Ken Blackwell, the Republican, African-American Secretary of State is advising that no challenges by either party made at the polling places will be honored. Hallelujah! A Republican with a conscience.
