Good heavens!! I leave you people alone for a few hours and you start planning Dis meets witht the enemy!!:teeth:

Did anyone see Giuliani this morning blaming the troops for the missing explosives? He said " no matter how you try to blame it on the president, the actual responsibility really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn't they search carefully enough?"

Maybe this is what "anybody but Bush" really means. They just need to add one word..."BLAME anybody but Bush".

Giuliani is a good Republican and you can bet your bottom dollar that he doesn't say a word that isn't ok'd by the Bush campaign. They sent him out to do the dirty work that Bush didn't want to have to do. It's not surprising though, we all know how little respect Bush has for anyone who actually served in the military.

That's disgusting and just proves that they will go as low as they have to in order to win.

I'm really tired of the Republicans giving Bush a pass. He's the Commander in Chief, or at least that's the title they love to toss out when they're telling us how un-American we are when we don't show blind loyalty. He needs to suck it up, as do his minions and accept responsibility. Does anyone think for a minute that when Kerry is elected he's going to get a pass on every mistake he makes????

And remember who was first blamed for the " mission accomplished " banner? Man, they are so good at passing the buck ! No wonder Bush could not recall any mistakes he made....in his mind, he has made none.

And PG...no way would we have a meet without our resident leftie !

I just got back from the rally here in Madison, Wisconsin. They expected 40-60,000 people and the estimated crowd was 80,000!

Here's my favorite picture, taken in the restaurant after the rally:

We were about a city block away, even with the blue tickets. This photo was zoomed in quite a bit on Photoshop:

There were still plenty of people behind us, along with the backdrop of our state capitol:

My DD had a heart painted on one cheek and "USA" painted on the other.

Anyway ... I hope that this gets some of you fellow Kerry Supporters excited. It was a great day for me!

Well, try this one on for size...now they've been caught doctoring photos of the soldiers for their campaign ads...

Don't blame Bush though, it was the editor's fault. Funny, doesn't he say something at the end of every ad that goes something like this..

I'm George W. Bush and I approved this ad???...Nah, I must have heard it wrong...

"Bush Campaign to Recut Doctored Ad"

By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer

INDIANOLA, Iowa - President Bush (news - web sites)'s campaign acknowledged Thursday that it had doctored a photograph used in a television commercial and said the ad will be re-edited and reshipped to TV stations.

The photo of Bush addressing a group of soldiers was edited to remove both the president and the podium where he was standing. A group of soldiers in the crowd was electronically copied to fill in the space, aides say.

And here's the part where they BABB...Blame Anybody But Bush..

"McKinnon said a video editor he declined to identify was told to edit the picture to focus on a young boy waving a flag. On his own initiative, the editor removed the podium and copied the faces, McKinnon said."

Great pics Robin! I'm so envious!

I especially love the pic with the State Capitol in the background!

Thanks so much for those fabulous pictures Robin.

I have seen so many pictures posted by people who actually attend these events. They show the real story of what is happening out there. Something the media has not done. Who else noticed that when Clinton appeared with Kerry to a crowd of around 100 thousand people, the media were reporting it as hundreds? Technically correct, but deceptive nevertheless.

Your pictures prove the entusiasm that is out there. And coming just after Bush had 20 thousand show up to a hall that would have held 80 thousand, it is particularly sweet.

I want to join that group! I need a good reason to wear my tiara out more often as well as my full length fauxr stole. :)

Peachgirl - Isn't it irritating when people in a position of authority over others are so quick to point fingers at someone under them rather than accept responsibility? When I managed a department, I knew that I was not only accountable for my own errors but for those within my supervision. Even if I did not specifically know of a mistake they made I still accepted responsibility for it and did not feel the need to point out who was "really" to blame.

Great photos! There's a rally today here on the Ohio State campus with Bruce Springsteen. Pretty cool stuff--DH had a ticket for me when I came home but there's no way I'd be able to get there in time for the festivities. He said campus was mobbed. :( Oh well.

Go Kerry! :teeth:

Believe it or not, the republicans are over at Amazon writing nasty reviews of Springstein. Yep, that's the ticket....disagree with my politics and I'll trash your music.

I love Wes Clark ! Check out his statement about Giuliani passing the buck :

WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 U.S. Newswire -- Gen. Wesley Clark issued the following statement today:

"For President Bush to send Rudolph Giuliani out on television to say that the 'actual responsibility' for the failure to secure explosives lies with the troops is insulting and cowardly. The President approved the mission and the priorities. Civilian leaders tell military leaders what to do. The military follows those orders and gets the job done. This was a failure of civilian leadership, first in not telling the troops to secure explosives and other dangerous materials, and second for not providing sufficient troops and sufficient equipment for troops to do the job. "President Bush sent our troops to war without sufficient body armor, without a sound plan and without sufficient forces to accomplish the mission. Our troops are performing a difficult mission with skill, bravery and determination. They deserve a commander in chief who supports them and understands that the buck stops in the Oval Office, not one who gets weak knees and shifts blame for his mistakes."

You tell em Wes !!!!

You know, I just don't get that. While I certainly am not going to change my vote because a celebrity likes a specific candidate, I believe they have just as much right to support their candidate in any way they can. I can't sing so I wouldn't expect to be able to use that talent for supporting a candidate but if I could sing, I'd be just as willing to do so "for the cause" as I would to use any other talent or skill. It's called freedom of speech! It's a little something that many US citizens (and others) think is important enough that we'll defend another's right of speech even in we don't agree with what what is being said.

I've seen a lot of people on the right touting realclearpolitics as one of the most reliable sources as far as polling and predictions go. I know they're extremely conservative and I wondered just how biased they were.

Well, take a look at their predictions just a few days before the 2000 "election"........
http://web.archive.org/web/20001110051000/www.realclearpolitics.com/Polls/polls-EC_ALWAYS.html

Remember this was for 2000, not this election!

The real debate is not who is going to win the election, but whether Bush will win 308 electoral votes or 474 electoral votes. The media's fantasy of Bush winning the popular vote and losing the electoral college is not going happen. The worst case scenario for a Bush victory will be a 2-3 point win in the popular vote and 10-20% more than the necessary 270 EC votes.

Some of their predictions are just hilarious...
:rotfl: :rotfl:

Mental note.....delete realclearpolitics from my favorites list...

LOL:teeth: That was the highest score I could get as well...I guess the space between his ears is limited...;)

Count me in for a meet when FIK is better...I'd love to hang out with y'all in person...and especially over a drink!

Can we wear tiaras?

I just don't get it.

Why is it when Kerry blames the administration in regards to the missing explosives in Iraq, the Bush supporters all cry that he is insulting the troops. And that since he is only basing what he is saying on newspaper reports, this will cause him to lose the elsection.

Ummmm...okay....

Giuliani, most likely sent out by the GOP blames the troops. Oh, it's okay. Rah rah rah!

Bah!

Certainly we can wear tiaras......but I suspect they might insist we wear more than just that. Just imagine the threads on the DIS..."tiaras only day" at Disney, should this be allowed?
