Morelli - Mark Ruffalo

Intriguing. I like it.

Morelli is a tough one but I always pictured Collin Farrel (sp?) but he'd have to ditch his Irish accent.

Also intriguing.

If didn't like Betty White Cloris Leachman would be hilarious.

Totally Cloris Leachman. Everyone's saying that Heigl just plays herself...that's what Betty White has built her career on. Even when she plays mean, she's still Betty White being mean.

Grandma is nutty, whacky, goofy...I can see Leachman getting into that role far more than White.

And another thing...whaddya mean Sandra Bullock is too old????

She's 45...it's going to be hard to age down 10 or more years. I think she's awesome and I can only hope to look like that in 5 years, but still...especially if they are going with an early book with the hopes of making more of the books, they are going to need to go with an actress more the age of the character, IMO.

I always thought Sherri Shepherd would be a good Lulu.

Absolutely. She can do the busy, always moving, irritated, annoying...I can just picture her moving around in some ridiculously tight outfit wanting to bust down a door.

I agree with who said Jillian as Stephanie. Too bad she doesn't act..

Leonardo DiCaprio would be a YUMMY Morelli

Ooh. It's funny, I can't stand watching JM, and if I were ever on Biggest Loser and she was my coach I would quit in 5 seconds (I know what motivates me from being in Crew, and her style would destroy me), but she actually is kinda close to what I see Plum as. She'd need to gain a little weight, though...Stephanie is in good shape, but she's not entirely fat-free.

Interesting idea, again, for Morelli!



I would actually love it if they would cast a relative unknown who is perfect for the part of Stephanie, even if they needed/wanted to cast bigger stars for the other roles. Just go with her character, not who could bring in a bigger audience. Kind of like the casting with the new Alice in Wonderland movie; I visit imdb a few times a week and I know tons of actor info, but I haven't a clue as to who Alice is being played by. She's got the stars around her, and she's...just...Alice.

Morelli: Benjamin Bratt or the guy that played Vince on Will and Grace
Ranger: The Rock....no question
Lula: Sherri Shephard but as her fiesty character on Everybody Loves Raymond (she played Roberts partner)
Grandma: The old lady on Desperate Housewives
Joyce: Marissa Tomei

Don't really have a clear picture of anyone else.

But Katherine Heigl? No way!!!!

I propose Napoleon Dynamite, aka Jon Heder, as Mooner!! (I can't remember if Mooner was in book #1, so this maybe a moot point, but still)

It's been a while, but I don't think that Tank is in book #1 either.

I think it is pretty much Stephanie, Connie, Morelli, Vinnie, Ranger. Lula does not play into that one as much as the upcoming books. And I don't think Mooner or Sally are in that one. (I just sold my entire Evanovich collection, so all I have are misc. books I had doubles of (still a lot of them, just not #1) - slightly kicking myself, but I am sure I will find them again at yard sales, etc.)

I thought Stephanie was in her mid-30's. I'm not sure why I thought that, though.

I always picture her as dark hair- not blond and Ranger I pictured with much much darker skin than "the rock"
I could see Danny Devito as Vinny for sure!

Right. Mooner showed up in seven or eight; and Sally first appeared in four or five.

Respectfully, though, as the ho who gave Stephanie information and ended up beaten up on her fire escape, Lula played a reasonable supporting role. Not funny, but she was there.

In my opinion, Morelli is the most difficult part to cast. We all have our own personal vision of this glorious character. All I know is he has to be HOT (with a capital H), sexy, gorgeous, and dreamy at the same time.

Some have mentioned Benjamin Bratt...but I just don't see it. If I was Stephanie and could choose between Bratt or the Rock (as Ranger), there'd be no contest.
