Hoping someone can help. Looking to stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in October through my in-law's timeshare. Does anyone know what the VIT, VI1, VIO & VO1 codes mean? These show up after the Sheraton Vistana Resort in the directory. Not sure if these codes have something to do with placement?

Thank you!

I'm sure you're correct in that they represent different phases of the resort. However, I can't help decipher what code is what section, or whether they actually put you in the section represented by the code.
For instance, at Marriott Williamsburg, they have MMC (Manor Club) and MSE (Sequel). Both my stays there were for MMC, and I was put in that section each time.
But Marriott Grande Vista has MGV and MGR, which I assume represent the older and newer sections of the resort. In several stays, I had both MGV and MGR reservations, but have always stayed in the older section.

I assume you are familiar with Vistana Resort, but in case not, it was developed over a period of maybe 25 years, with maybe 6 or 7 different phases. Some phases are much newer and nicer than some of the others. The newest phase is probably less than 5 years old, and was under construction about the time Sheraton become involved. The two phases prior to that (sorry, can't recall the names), are probably the most desirable phases.

These codes identify the phase of the resort from which a unit was deposited with II. However, it's my understanding that this resort reserves the right to assign/reassign all incoming exchangers at check-in. So the section you get through the exchange probably doesn't matter. Only one section has 2BRs for 6, so that one will be a giveaway.

Whatever you get, once you've confirmed the trade (especially for a 2BR for 8), go online to the resort's website and click on "Diamond Lane Check-in." Request your preferences politely and identify your request as belonging to an exchange via II. HTH!

Sorry, it's on Sheraton Vistana's website. :(

I think for the MGV you have to fax or call.

someone once posted what the symbol means

each one is for a different unit (building).

II has to do this way because each building is management by a different committee???? I don't know what this mean - just read it on tug.

on someone on tug has broken it down. I will try to find the code - if it is really important to you.

sheraton vistana is giving II the best units. As I say they are a little upset with skyauction when they receive nothing extra for these auctions. skyauction and RCI are kepting all the money.
