HI,

Our family has sailed on two Disney cruises and are planning on our third for sometime in 2004. In the past we have been patient and waited for the Florida resident specials to come out and have made our reservation directly from Disney. Recieved some very good deals.

However, I am wondering if other Florida residents have used a travel service and found that beneficial? I dont see how you can beat the Florida resident specials.

Just curious on what other Florida residents do. Thanks.

We've done DCL directly too. I am interested in trying All Seas for our next booking, though.

Here is the link in case you are interested:

We're not sure if we'll cruise DCL in 2004, as we have a week planned for WDW in May, staying at the Dolphin or $wan (not sure which to book yet).

We like to cruise at the end of May/early June - last week of school as the FL rates are still in effect, nice weather, and many older kids are still in school (we take ours out for the last week, as they are 10, 7, and 3)

We've actually looked into several different options for booking but, as you guessed, we found that Florida Resident Rates directly through Disney are about the best you can hope to get.

We've been lucky enough to sail on three seven day cruises. Paid $799 for one and $599 per person for the other two.

If you can get a Florida Resident rate, not much can beat it. We have also been on two Disney cruises, but we did not book them directly through Disney ourselves. We used AAA -- where as a member, travel services are free, they can get you the Florida Resident discount, AND as a AAA perk we all got the free soda travel mug program, allowing for free soda anywhere on ship, including on Castaway Cay.

It is a great deal.

Thanks to all for the feedback and bumbing to get more feedback.

Threecircles our experience has been the same as yours. Best to you.

We have used DU, and they will make sure you get the Florida Residents Rates when they become available, even if you booked at some other rate. On our recent November cruise, we had a group of 8 cabins, some Cat 11, a Cat 7 and some Cat 6. Four of them were booked onboard, and the rest were booked later. None were originally booked as Fla Resident Rates (not available at time of booking) When the Fla Rates became available, DU without our knowing, checked on the availability of lower rates and then gave us the options. They did one thing that I am not sure would have happened had we dealt directly ourselves with Disney. On our Cat 11 rooms, Florida Resident Rates were not available. So DU checked on Cat 10s, which were available, and everyone got upgraded to Cat 10 from 11 and saved over $300 from their Cat 11 Early Booking Rate. We still got the DU discount of between $75-$100 additional savings per room.

we always book through our TA, a well trusted Cruise One agent, and always get FL Resident rates from him....his rates are pretty much equivalent to allseastravel.com, which are the best I've ever seen....

I've compared my TA's rates to DCL direct, and they are in fact lower.....

We booked with All Seasons to get the Florida Resident rate. I don't know how the price compares to Disney, but...I do know that they often offer specials - i.e. $100 - $200 on board credit along with the resident rates. I was very happy with all seasons and the rate that we received. I also like All Seasons because you can check the dates online and she what date is cheapest. If you sign up with them they will send you an e-mail update with specials and tell you when the next group of Florida Resident rates are opening up. They will also adjust the cost if you book before the resident rates are available.
