I might be the only one, but I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed that they have cast Katherine Heigl as Stephanie. Putting aside that I cannot stand her, even if I liked her, she isn't Stephanie at all to me. Maybe she will be great, but I just can't imagine her in this part. From the first Stephanie book I read, I pictured Marisa Tomei as Stephanie. I know she's really too old now, but Katherine Heigl??????????????? I don't get it.

I agree!!! I don't much about her as an actress (I'm terrible with names), but when I read that she was cast I was definitely disappointed. She just does not have the Stephanie "look."

She isn't New Jersey either.

I used to think Sandra Bullock would be really good as Stephanie too, again, I think she is too old now, but I can totally see her at Stephanie.

OMG, I can hardly wait to see it on the big screen. I wonder who Grandma M will be.

My 15 year old has just discovered these books. She is laughing hysterically while reading them. This is the first series in years that she has read that isn't about vampires. She is on book 6 and has just met bob .

I haven't met a person yet who hasn't enjoyed these books.

I agree. When I first read a few months ago that she was going to play Stephanie Plum I was dissapointed. They said she was going to dye her hair to play the part. Maybe someone like Ellen Paige (Juno) would be a better fit. Or even Zooey Deschanel would be a good fit.

I agree about Katherine Heigel, no way do I picture her as Stephanie. They've cast Daniel Sunjata as Ranger. I was picturing someone a little a "buffer".

I love Greys too. But she is not at all meant for the part. I'll have to look to see who these men are. Hope they are at hot as the books portray them to be.

Daniel Sunjata - didn't know who he was, but when I looked him up, I can see him as a Ranger type. Somehow I have always envisioned Ranger as someone like 'The Rock.'

I always pictured The Rock too....too bad he can't act! I just saw Tooth Fairy, so believe me I know.

Wow, about damned time! One of the first places I used to hang out with regularity was the boards on evanovich.com. This was maybe in late '99 or '00? There used to be heated discussions on who would play who for the movie. For Ranger I think the top contenders was The Rock and Ving Rhames. Sandra Bullock and Debra Messing were popular choices for Stephanie. I wonder how the film would translate, as a lot of the funny bits in the novels are from Stephanie's personal thoughts.

I stopped reading after #8 or so... do her cars still get blown up in every book?

The description in the novels are very clear about Ranger being HUGE. This guy is a shrimp compared to him. Not only that, check out the caricature of the characters on Evanovich's website and you'll see a big difference. I guess we can only hope that this guy will do a complete 180 like Taylor Lautner did in New Moon.

Even if he does do a 180, it isn't going to make him taller.

I think Evanovich fans are going to be very disappointed with this movie.

I don't know, I think the guy they cast for Ranger can pull it off. I don't picture Ranger as HUGE. Tank, yes he is huge, but not Ranger.
I think Oded Fehr would be a good Ranger.(You'll have to google him because I can't figure out how to post a pic)
I can't think of a Stephanie.
