For everyone working

I'm not even sure what my dream job would be. But I like where I work and enjoy the people, I just wished it payed more so I wouldn't have to work 2 jobs now.

NOPE and this is a topic on my mind A LOT lately. If I could go back and do it over I'd be in the same field (writing/editing) but working for a health or animal charity, or I'd be working directly with animals. Now that I have a chronic illness AND a mortgage, it's tough to take the chance on switching jobs. It DOES pay well though and I have great benefits...but a boss that is tough to work with for many reasons.

Yup! ::yes::

I must be the luckiest woman in the world. I have my dream job.... being a SAHM for my 2 kids. My deal is I help out my DH's business by doing all the acctg and payroll work from the home, I keep the home clean, and I take care of the kids. It's the most difficult job/s I've had, but it's the most rewarding as well.

Plus, to make all of you jealous............ I get to hang out on the DIS during nap times, AND I have this view from my computer.

Now do you see why I think I definitely have my dream job?

Oh, and while I don't have a "dream" job, I'm very happy where I'm at. I get to do a lot of cool projects and it's actually stuff that everyone around here appreciates. It's a company that's strong and growing fast. I can't complain about any of it. :) :)

WOW! What an incredible view - and a couple of VERY cute kiddos too!

3 years ago this would have been my dream job, but with all the lay-offs and cut backs, its become a paycheck to me. I really never thought I would feel this way. I keep the job I have because I am not sure I can find anything I like any better at this point.

Disney Enthusiast, thanks! Business is always slower in the summer. It's ok, I have had a chance to redecorate my girls' rooms!

Your kids are SO cute, btw!

I would love to work (or hardly work) at WDW, at a job that would allow me to enjoy the parks, as well as see all the little kids faces when they see Mickey for the first time, etc. But then I wonder that if it's a job, it would take a lot of the fun out of it. So, I guess I am doing the next best thing. I work for a company that sells animation art (including Disney art). Knowing all the characters, etc (not just Disney), is a part of my job! Maybe I'll revisit the working at Disney thing after I retire and don't actually need the $....

The reason I asked is because I am amazed at the number of people at DH's work that dont keep their resumes updated...set goals that they never hit (ie..taking classes or learning things that they need to learn to stay ontop..and all the PR you need to do.)

I guess he is always telling me how much people complain abotu things and they never do what it takes to change it.

Just wondering if I was crazy!

And just so you know..I am talking about DH's coworkers/employees..I am not referring to anyone here!

while I love the people I work with I have become stagnant in my position. My brain does not function because I am not challenged anymore. There are a lot of dream jobs that I have...travel agent, dolphin trainer, interior designer....none that would be profitable in the area I live in unfortunately. Oh also one day would love to be the Queen of Hearts at WDW!

Thank you Cyndee for being so nice and noticing my kids. We waited almost 10 yrs to have children and they are such little blessings, as I am sure yours are to you.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. We are crazy hectic now (my DH is in construction) and in the winter we are catching up on all the paperwork and taking our vacation because we are slow, slow, slow. So hopefully this is just a seasonal thing. And it's great that you have time for other things like redoing your girls' rooms. I'll keep my fingers crossed, though, and I'll hope that the work picks up for you soon.

Yes, we are very blessed to have our girls! We wanted more, but apparently God has other plans!

I'm glad things are busy with construction. This means that the economy really is turning around! Hopefully, we will be able to sell our home for a bit of a profit and MOVE from here!

Bob Slydell and Disney Enthusiast
Thank you for the kind words.

Cynsaun - I hope your business picks up soon.:wizard:

To everyone else out there not happy at what they are doing and to those looking for work. All GOOD thoughts to you.

I will in less than 2 years!!!!!!!! And I can't freakin' wait =)

Right now, I'm working odd and end jobs while completing seminary... I *have* worked my dream job on a PT basis before moving, and I miss it terribly =(

Thankfully, I have gotten super involved in my local church, and will more than likely be working as a Ministry Assistant to the Children's Minister in the next month or so (current one taking a FT church position), so I can get back into it - at least on some level. That helps tons =)

So my jobs right now aren't, but I am working towards mine... which brings me SO much joy.

Nope....not my dream job....but I'm not really sure what that is. I'm in school right now working on my degree for Business Administration, concentration in HR...but the more and more I think about it...the more I question whether I'll be able to find a job in that field. It seems to be one of the first areas to get hit when companies reduce headcount. So I'm not sure what I'll do once I have the degree.
