what's your definition of crowded? We're going the 23 through the 29th. Is crowded 15-30 minute waits for most rides, or over an hour? I know crowded is subjective. For someone who's been Christmas week, October's probably dead, but to someone like me who normally goes mid-November or early December, will it be MUCH busier? Do I need to plan on leaving the parks during the day to avoid the crowds?

Any help would be appreciated!

I am hoping that we (the DISers) are all suffering from group paranoia!lol :rotfl: I am hoping it will be fine for my trip the first week in Oct. I am thinking that it will be more crowded than my last trip dec 2003, but this trip will be fun with MNSSHP and F&W so I am willing to put up with more crowds. Hope to see lots of green mickeys! 19 days to go!! :hourglass

I don't think it's group paranoia, sorry to say. October looks very busy indeed. From what I can tell, I'd guess you could count on anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour for the biggies, depending on time of day.

That said, it's not going to be as busy as the Christmas/New Year holiday period, so that's something, right?

I have been serveral times in October. We only found it more crowded on weekends. Don't get me wrong the park isn't going to be empty during the week. There are times when its more crowded then others.

Go, have a great time and don't worry!! Its all good when you are at DISNEY!!!

A crowded day at Disney beats anyday at work. :earsboy:

Crowds:
This is a very subjective thing but nothing on UG's site best parks page lists anything under a 4 anymore relating to crowds and October being mostly 5 and 6s.
Christmas week is a 10 meaning jam packed parks will close at some point during the day due to capacity crowds.

Go to www.touringplans.com and click to see the crowd calendar. I just came from there.

Our days are 5's, a 6, and three 7's. The numbers mean roughly 50 minute peak wait time for major attractions on a day that's ranked 5, 60 minutes for a day of 6, etc.

You won't see me standing in line for ANYTHING for 70 minutes. I'll print out the touring plans and we will follow them as carefully as possible, we'll get to the parks early, we'll use Fast Pass whenever we can. We really only have one day where we are planning to take it easy in the morning, so the other 7 days we should be on hand at opening! That may trash some of my evening plans, but if the crowds are really that bad we may be ready to go back to the room just to get away from them!
