What do you think the chances are that we will get a follow up to this movie in the future. Sadly we know it’s not performing well at the box office, and covid is largely to blame, but the movie does have some pretty interesting lore to expand upon in the future, and the critical response to this movie is pretty high. If people like it as much as the reviews suggest, is it plausible that Disney may pursue expanding on this series in the future? Maybe not with a second film, but possibly a tv series, or a book or manga or something?

Based on the ending and the artwork depicted in the credits, do you think there’s enough room for future material? Do you think Raya and Sisu said goodbye and parted ways after the celebration at Heart, or do you think they continued to hang out, shared fun adventures and good memories like true BFF’s even after Kumandra was restored? I’d like to think, as close as those two became, they at least would stay in touch and visit each other frequently after everything they went through together, but I don’t really know.

Really, Raya would work great as a series in the way they did Tangled or similar. It has a great world! We'll just have to see. If they do anything it will likely be a little bit down the line.

Ah yeah, that would actually be pretty cost effective. Given that Tangled had a budget of roughly $260 million, the series drawn in that style couldn't have cost anywhere close to that, even for two full seasons. That would be a very cute and fitting art style for a Raya series too, a great way to expand upon the lore and the characters.

What do you think happened after the ending? Do you think Raya and Sisu say their goodbyes and go their separate ways, or is it sleepovers, hair braiding contests and pillow fights galore for these two?

I would assume thye stay friends, but Sisu probably has dragon business to attend to. In a world like that though the next great threat is always right around the corner, so they would probalby reunite quickly to go on another quest.

I wonder what business she would have to attend to though. Kumandra is safe and its people are reunited, so she's fully free to experience life now. Maybe she opts to travel and see Kumandra as a whole or spends some time with her new dragon family, but I don't think that prohibits her from visiting her friends frequently, or even making herself a new home at Heart. The lake there would be some prime real estate for her, after all.

Her friendship with Raya is a strong one by the movies end, they're almost like sisters, so it's hard to imagine that they just say "cya later" after all of that. Long-term goodbyes like that are pretty bittersweet in my book.

Oh, I'm sure they'd still see each other. I take it Kumandra is safe because the dragons are attending to "dragon business" or creating water or whatever. In a fantasy world like that though full of magical whatnot, there's always something dangerous. I imagine Sisu can pretty much go anywhere she wants, so I'm sure she wouldn't be a stranger.

I would be interested in seeing how the united government is set up. As far as I'm concerned, the leader of Fang would need to step aside and have no business in the new leadership - heck, she might even need to be tried for war crimes!

Virana? Maybe. Sisu is pretty forgiving though, that group hug at the end gives off some strong vibes that she and Namaari are gonna be good buddies now.

Yeah, but it's not Sisu's call. I don't think the other nations would be too happy with her. Now, Namaari could be redeemed, but not instantaneously. She kind of "saw the light" though, so I would be okay with her remaining friends with the group, but probably not a voice in government.

It's not Sisu's decision, but I imagine her voice would weigh heavy in the matter, especially if she was asked for her opinion on what to do. It's not at all unlikely that the leaders of Heart and the other tribes might look to her for guidance and wisdom in their politics and decision-making.

Well, They may, but I know for me she would be made to relinquish al power at a minimum. Forgiveness is one thing, but that doesn't mean exemption from all consequences.

Just to clarify, I meant the leaders might look to Sisu for wisdom and guidance, not Virana. Dragon wisdom would probably be a very valuable form of input in the reformation of Kumandra.

But yeah, Virana would likely be forced to resign at the absolute minimum, though I expect she would have to commit to some form of restitution as part of her atonement.

And Namaani likely wouldn't be involved in their government either, but something tells me she doesn't really want that anyway. She seems like she's pretty happy with the way things are at the end.

Oh, yeah, certianly, though Sisu doesn't really strike me as the "wisest" of the dragons. She is the youngest after all. Virana's gotta be out though, not that FAng can't have a voice, but they will need new leaders. Namaani doesn't strike me as the government type eitehr, but she is at least more redeemable than her mother is.

Oh, Sisu is a total goofball, no doubt about that, but she does have striking moments of profound wisdom throughout the movie too. It's all part of what makes her such a memorable character.

Sisu is just one voice though. I imagine the leaders would look to the Dragon collective as a whole for advice. They're all living together again, sharing Kumandra again for the first time in at least 500 years, so they have some catching up to do.

I actually didn't think about this until now, but during the credits there's a slideshow of artwork that I assume kind of acts as an epilogue to the story, showing things like farmers tending the fields as a pack of dragons go flying by in the distance. Several of them show Raya and all of her friends and family gathered in the palace at Heart. There's one with Raya and Namaani sitting in front of the lake balcony talking with one another, and the very next one shows Sisu and Boen in the next room making a big salad together. Who knows whether the salad was intended for everyone or just for Sisu (she did say she was very hungry when she was reunited with Raya), but I think based on that little skit, it seems very likely that Sisu did indeed stick around after all was said and done, or at least made herself welcome quite often, as you suggested.

Given that Sisu spent so much of her life in isolation, I would imagine that she absolutely loves spending equal amounts of time with both her human friends (who are really more like family by the movies end, blood related or not) and her dragon kin whom she has never really known until now. It's something she never really had before, and she seems very much the social type, so I imagine she craves and adores contact and interaction with others, especially those closest to her, just for the company if nothing else. Just happy to know that she's no longer alone in the world.
