For DVC'ers That Love Ice Cream...

Mrs. Pott's cupboard in MK used to sell soft-serve. Don't know if they still do.

Thanks. Yes, we are a fan of the Dole Whips!

I know the dinosaur on the lake at MGM has soft serve, too.

I'm glad to know WL, BW & OKW have an option for her. Thanks!

Because of medical reasons I can only eat fat free icecream. Any ideas where I can find some outside of the parks?

Please excuse the stupid questions but I have only heard a little bit about the Kitchen Sink at BC. What is the cost of the KS? Do you get to keep it as a souvenir? What exactly does it have?

It's a huge Ice Cream Sundae. It gets it's name from the fact that it has just about everything in it but the kitchen sink. It's not a souvenir, unless you count the stomach ache you can "bring home" from eating one! Here is the description, from allears.net:

Kitchen Sink - scoops of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee and mint chocolate chip, smothered in every topping we have $21.99

There are probably other places (closer!) besides Brusters...but they have wonderful home made ice cream! At our local store, you can call and request specific flavors (DH's fav is grapefruit sherbet...and they don't make it often) and they will call you when they have them! Last time I requested it, they made it for me the next day! I know they always have some low fat flavors...not sure about fat free (they do have sugar free/fat free). I'll bet they would make some if you called, though.

We were also customers of The Dolphin Fountain and Snack Shop over the weekend. DH had a smoothie with strawberries and a banana that he thought was just right, I was less than pleased with the chocolate ice cream soda. Friendly's Ice Cream stores have nothing to fear from the opposition when it comes to chocolate ice cream sodas (with chocolate ice cream of course)! However, the Dolphin did give me the "extra" from the mixing, a second glass of the chocolate soda.

We also like the Fresh Mediterranean Market at the Dolphin, we've arranged to have mom's 85th birthday luncheon there in December.

Thanks so much for having started this thread!

As an ice cream junkie myself lol, we did manage to make it over to the Dolphin fountain a few days after having read this thread and dh and I both had a "sundae sundae" which was comparable in size to the "fudge mudslide with the oreo's" sundae we've gotten previously at B&C and it was much less expensive (and the DVC discount was on top of the already lower price).

It was not crowded in the least over there and we initially asked at the dolphin's front desk where the dolphin fountain was located in the bldng. and they gave my ds a certificate for a free ice cream cone ~ which I thought was awfully nice of them;)

Ya just gotta love the Dis and all it's members:teeth: ::yes::

HTH!
:wave2: :sunny:

I think you meant MK not EPCOT -- Tommorrowland and the indy speedway ride are at MK;)

I have boys who consider their arcade time as important as their park time. (We clamp down on the game cube at home, so on vacation we let them go wild.)

I'm probably in the minority, but I like having the arcade next to B&C. (My wife and I actually worked off a few calories on the dancing video game.)

I'd like to try to Dolphin Fountain. But is there an arcade nearby? Our ice cream evening usually coincides with our arcade evening.

You got me curious about Epcot. After spending some quality time with allearsnet.com, it seems the only place in Epcot where you can get soft-serve icecream is at the Liberty Inn in the American pavilion. At Sunshine Season Food Fair in The Land, you can get soft-serve frozen yogurt and hand-dipped ice cream.

Do not eat at the Dolphin Fountain shop. That place is a cheap Beaches & Cream rip off. The food there is horrible, I ordered the Beach Boys burgers which is supposed to be 4 mini hamburgers. The Burgers where gross, they looked like cat food on a mini bun. We had very poor service and I highly recomend Beachs and Cream over this place even with the discount.

CVW the Dolphin does have an Arcade, but it's not next to the Dolphin fountain. It's passed Tubbies and down the hallway leading to the Swimming pool. I haven't been in there in a while, but when I was in there it wasn't anything special.

Wow! We always go and have never been disappointed. We stayed at the Dolphin on our first trip to WDW ('92) and have always stopped in on subsequent visits. It used to be Tubbi Checkers. Sorry you had a bad experience.

You're right of course, must have been half asleep when I wrote that. I went back and changed my post so it's right now. Thanks for pointing that out!

Can you charge a meal at the Fountain to your Disney resort card?

Sorry, No. You'd need to either pay cash or use your regular cc.

No biggie - had to take a double take on that one at first and then realized it;)

:crazy2: How awful!
I can only speak for the ice cream ~ that was just as good IMO as for burgers, thanks for the warning! I think it would be really hard to top a B&C burger anyway.::yes:: I still stand by my recommendation for the ice cream though
