Is it really that hard to put your nasty wet towels in the washer??? I have begged, pleaded, threatened and cursed and still my two teens leave wet bath and pool towels on their floors It is impossible to get a clean dry towel around here I give up, I just went out and bought more towels I know, I am weak

I feel your pain. It was the same way at my house. What I do is if they run out of towels, I tell them to get one off the bedroom floor and use it. If they need to be washed bring them to the washer. After a few times of no towel after the shower mine learned. Good Luck!

I used to have the wet-towel-on-the-floor problem, but I solved it.

I opened the "Mom's towel-picking-up service." Yes, for only a $1 deduction from your allowance, I will pick up your towel and hang it neatly on the towel bar. No complaints, no nagging . . . but you're going to pay.

The first two weeks both girls actually owed me money. Since then they've decided that "my service" isn't really worth the cost. They still don't see the point in picking up their towels, but they do it.


Related topic . . . want to know how I handle unmade beds? I don't complain about them either. I just strip the sheets off and leave everything folded neatly at the foot of the bed. The girls learned that it's easier to make your bed in the first place rather than to have to make it up completely from scratch.

I don't have kids and DH and I aren't sure we ever plan to, but I feel like I should write this kind of stuff down somewhere just in case - excellent idea!
