My cousin is a CP alum and now is working seasonally at WDW. We are going with my family in August, and she is going to work a few days that week in order to keep her seasonal status and discount. We noticed today when booking my folk's room that on our print out it said the CM must present an ID within 10 days of arrival of guest or the discount will be null and the guests will be charged the rack rate. We're all flying the same day, and she thought she could go straight to Casting, get her ID and stuff, then we could procede to check in for our rooms.

Could anyone clarify for us if the above plan is ok, or if my cousin would need to be down there prior to check-in to secure the discount on the rooms? If so, we need to change our ressies! Help!

Thanks for any insight you could lend :cool1:

Your plan is fine ~ She can just go get her ID and then be with you at check-in to show her ID. No need for her to be there any earlier. Front desk just needs to see the CM's ID sometime during your stay (hence the 'within 10 days). Say you checked in without the CM because she was working at that time. You could check-in just fine - the CM would then just need to go to the front desk and present her ID so they can verify your room was eligible for the CM discount.

Thank goodness! We got a little scared when my mom spotted that. Last December when we went, my cousin was already down there working since August, had faxed her ID and the confirmation #'s over, and our ressie got lost! But they fixed it right away, and luckily she wasn't working at the time we checked in so she came by and showed her ID. We thought since they lost her fax and she hadn't confirmed it within the 10 days prior we may have problems this time around since she'll be returning to work the same day we check in. Thanks, I can rest easier now!

Just wondering as my sister will become a CM in June...how good are CM discounts usually? Thanks!

If you are asking about room discounts, they get a great deal :)

Yep. I was wondering about room discounts. Are they better than Annual passholder rates?

According to my cousin who is a CM the discounts are up to 40% based on availability.

Sounds great! So I guess you have to book early?
