I know *they* say you can fit a comforter in there - but can you really? Has anyone washed a full or queen sized comforter in a front-loader?

How did it turn out?

I have a front loader Maytag Neptune and have washed a king sized comforter. You do have to push it in a little but it come out fine.

I have the Kenmore Elite front loader and I've washed full size and king size comforters no problem.

I have the front loading whirlpool duet and have washed a queen comforter. Just push it in till the door shuts. Turned out fine and sure beats going to the laundromat for sure.

Mine fits fine and I have a King. :thumbsup2

I have the Bosch front loader and have washed my king comforter. A little snug but it came out fine!!

Thank you!!!

I have two comforters that I'm dying to wash instead of bring to the cleaners, but keep chickening out.

Did everyone just put them in the dryer too?

I keep envisioning taking this big ball of wrinkles out of the dryer.....

I just got the LG front load washer and today I put in my king size comforter - JUST the comforter and when I took it out there were areas on the comforter that did not even get wet! And I am assuming that if it did not get wet then it did not get cleaned.

I was so estatic to be able to do this and now I find that it really did not even work. When I purchased it at Home Depot the woman told me that I would be able to strip my entire king size bed and wash everything together - sheets, pillow cases, and comforter.

Could it be that I did not put enough in the machine???????????????????????
That I needed more in the machine to weigh down the comforter???????????

Can anyone help me with these questions????????????
I dont know where else to turn - and for spending over $2000 for the washer and dryer I think my husband will KILL me if I tell him it is NOT doing what they told us it would do.

Thanks

We have a Kenmore Elite HE3t and have washed our king size comforter in it with no problem. Did you have the setting on heavy wash?

I've put my king sized down alternative comforter in mine with plenty of room to spare.

I've got a Whirlpool Duet, I wash it on "regular."

It goes right in the Duet dryer as well.

I don't know. I think I had mine set on the average spin speed. It would seem like a higher spin speed would work better, but maybe you might need a lower one for a bulky comforter.

Thank for your opinion.

I just RE WASHED it on a short cycle with an extra rinse. That seeemed to work - the entire comforter was wet. Who knows?

I'll just have to keep playing with it until I find what works.

How is yours with regards to the shake/vibration factor? Where is yours? What type of floor is it on?

Kenmore Elite He4T - King Sized comforter fits just fine :) Its' amazing what you can fit into a front loader :)

LOL - Mine shakes the entire house- but it's on the second floor of the house (colonial) with the bedrooms so that's probably why :)

I have the Kenmore HE3T and it's on the second floor (house is almost 7 yrs old, not colonial) and doesn't shake the house at all. It's also the quietest washer I have ever owned. I can wash two twin comforters in it at once and a king by itself and they come out as clean as can be.

Good luck!

:cutie:

We have the Whirlpool Duet and it will wash a king size comforter or blanket with no problem. I agree with the above poster--it is the quietest machine that we have ever had. There doesn't seem to be any vibration at all. We do live on a slab though. We do have a very small house, 1330 sq. ft., so it isn't very far from where we are anywhere in the house. We really don't hear the washer or dryer at all except when the washer spins and when either one of them buzzes to let us know they are finished.
