I bought the digital frame for my Mom for Christmas but I honestly have NO clue how they work ! Can someone tell me if you have to keep your memory card inserted in the frame or do you upload the pictures into the frame ? I just wondered because I need to know if I have to get her another memory card since she only has one :confused3

I think it depends on the frame you bought - Some have an internal memory card, others have where you can take the card out, load it up, and put it back in the frame. I think it should tell you somewhere on the box.

But how do you load up a new memory card with pics you have stored on your computer?

On most of them the internal memory is pretty low so you would still need another memory card.

They are so cheap these days, I would just pick her up another one (it is always best to have at least 2 anyway.)

Good point !! I will just go get her another memory card, I don't know why I didn't rationalize it like that :rotfl:

Thanks !

There are card reader type devices that plug into your usb port. Some computers have a built-in slot for these cards If you happen to have a disney mix stick- it easily doubles as bridge/connection for your sd cards- this is how I loaded all my pics onto my sd cards for the digital frames - just copied my photos to the mix stick card- then removed the card from the mix stick- and stuck it in the frame.

I bought a digital picture frame for my mom for Christmas. I also bought her a small memory card (you don't really need anything too big if it's just going to be used in the frame) and a card reader to easily transfer whatever pictures she wants on and off the card. You can usually use your camera to transfer, but the reader is a lot more straightforward for the not so technologically inclined. Some computers already have card readers built in, you can check that before buying anything extra.

Thanks for the info, I bought the 12n1 reader/writer yesterday but I really didn't need it because when I started playing around with the computer I could do the same thing with the slots built in the computer (yep, I'm techno challenged :lmao: ). Finally got the thing loaded and off in the mail to my MIL.
