This summer I was at the local beach with my kids and we decided to stop at a little family owned ice cream shop called the Frosty Boy right outside the beach entrance. Imagine my surprise when I saw a sign for Dole Whips! They rotate between the pinapple and strawberry, and lucky for me, that day they offered the pinapple.

I didn't have one on our trip to Disney and I have regretted it ever since. So, I decided to try it and whoa Nelly, was it great! Refreshing is the exact word for it. Perfect after a long hot day at the beach (or walking around the MK, I assume).

If you live in the Detroit area and have ever been to Metro Beach in Harrision Township, I'm sure you've seen the Frosty Boy. Stop by and have a Dole Whip. It's the real deal.

There are tons of ice cream supply houses that sell Dole Whip mixes. I've always been baffled at how it became so well associated with Disney World, when I've had it at fairs, ice cream stands, festivals, all over the place, well before I even knew they had it at WDW.

It's just another commercial product, unlike Mickey Head Ice Cream Bars or the Smoked Turkey legs.

Kinda like the popcorn they sell at WDW. I don't care if it does say "Orville Redenbacher" or not. I think it still tastes better walking around WDW. Yum!

I had my first one in Adventureland on our last trip in May...sorry, but I'm not jumping up and down !!!! There's no substitute for some good chocolate ice cream!!!!
