The Race Down Main Street
I got through that turnstile and it was like everything was going in slow motion to the song from "Chariots of Fire!"

I took off and turned around to see DH a little further behind me and my arm was up motioning him to "Come on!" DH picked up the pace with the heavy book bag on his back and we were off down Main Street USA!
It was already crowded everywhere and I wanted a spot in the front of the crowd and we grabbed an open spot in front of one of the barricades right at the end of Main Street. It was like a secret mission, as I called off the orders to DH.
"Get the towels out! Lay them down! We must take up as much space as we can! Grab the front! Move it, move it, move it!"
This would be out home for the next almost 14 hours! We were right on the edge of the sidewalk, which was great because we could actually sit normally, but you can only imagine how uncomfortable concrete begins to feel! Your butt becomes numb quite quickly and you learn to just ignore it!
We were quickly surrounded by a crowd of people, who were all getting set-in for the day too, but there was not much room behind us where we were seating because the walkway area was small. There were also benches that took up most of the space and I couldn't imagine how those people were going to sit there all day crammed together like that. Plus, I knew there would be issues, once it got even more crowded and it was premiere time!
(Foot Note:
I go to these type of events a lot, so I know how it works and have had a lot of practice!
)
Well, there isn't much more to say, except to say we sat...sat...sat...and then sat some more! After about four hours of sitting, I decided it was time to get up and do some exploring. I was also going to make my way down Main Street and get some drinks for DH & I. I was also craving some goodies from the Blue Ribbon Bakery! It was almost impossible for us to leave our station. I was stepping on body parts, towels, blankets, bags, etc. It was just awful! I knew I had to make a quick trip because we had to keep our area secure!

Our book bag took my place, while I was gone and I gave DH strict orders. He was busy playing hours of Tetris...
The line at the Blue Ribbon Bakery was out the door, but I was happy because I knew this would give me something to do other than sit. I could stand!

I got a hot chocolate for me and a coffee for DH. I also had to get one of the oversized sticky buns and a Mickey cookie for us! Yummy! Everything smelled so good in the bakery!
Then, I had to figure out how I was going to get through the crowd and back to DH! Was I even going to find DH again! That was the first question! Well, I got to where I thought DH was and just stood there trying to figure out my next move with a full drink in each hand. I had stuffed everything else in my large purse; luckily, I did have that with me! I had to literally have some guy help hold my arm as I maneuvered around a trashcan and a fence. I'm pretty sure in the process I spilled some coffee on someone, but I couldn't tell you that for sure.
I got back to my spot and everyone around us was very territorial. I heard some woman say, "Yeah, let her through, she's with him."

She will become a key player in my Trippie for many annoying and irritating reasons. Especially, since she showed up three hours later than we did and smushed her way in and then her two annoying children showed up two hours later than that!
And here is what we did for the next few hours...
let me reenact...
