for all DCL gurus

Really? I have booked the Mexico one for 7 nights so we can visit DL too. I was wondering if we would be better doing the Bahamas 4 night one but we want to go to CA next. It is our first cruise and will be our first visit to DL and CA. It will just be me and my daughter who will be 9 and that has always been my biggest worry about doing a cruise. That we will end up bored.

I feel like we are risking getting stuck in a rut if we keep going Orlando every year and I will never be brave enough to try new places.

With all respect to Wayne, ANY disney cruise is good,7 nights is better than 4 ,so much to do, I met folks that done the 2 weeks ta cruise for there 1st time and loved it, I agree re rut, go on, try it, 7 nights will be amazing......

TRUST ME, you wont be bored.
Even on the 2 week cruise there was stuff ,like seminars I never madeit to as there was other stuff going on.
I mean look at all the folks that keep going back.

Has anyone booked on the DCL site in £££s yet? Wondered what the cancellation policy's were?

We are looking for a 4 night cruise in 2012 (or maybe a 5 night depending on dates) and I am not sure whether to book in ££ or $$. I will book in $$ if the deposit in ££ is non-refundable.

I can only go on my experience before we did our 1st cruise, I was not sure we would enjoy cruising, as it turned out we loved it (as does 99% of people) but my worry is advising someone to go for 7 nights on their 1st cruise and them not liking it, I think 4 days is good for a taster then go for 7 for 2nd cruise.
I have been on a ship ill for 3 days out of 4, best feeling in the world getting back on dry land, how glad I was not on a 7 night cruise that trip, would be same for anyone who doesn't enjoy or gets bad seasickness.
I wouldn't hesitate doing a round the world cruise now, spending a month on a ship but some people don't like crusing.

Not read them but the policies are here if you want a read thru.

Had a quick read and as long as cancelled before 45 days all money will be refunded. Dont think it is the same as disney uk. As complete orlamdo are cheaper than booking direct with disney may book with them. Wayne why are there not many cheaper rooms and is it just the deck level thts the difference between an 11a and 11b? With ur experience of criusing would you book a higher deck and which end would you book front or back? On the dream the cabin they specified was 5013 but it is right at the end not near any lifts. Just wondered if it mattered about location. There seems to be a lot of availibility. The date is 13 th nov '11'.

On the Dream they seem to have limited inside cabins, made as many as they could outside. Don't know enough about the Dream yet, could be deck level the difference between 11a & 11b, maybe someone could post thats studied the deck plans. We have always been on Deck 5 on Magic & Wonder. Dosesn't really matter to us where we are but we have always enjoyed Deck 5. Will be on Deck 6 next year on Dream, just took the cabin that was allocated by the website.

Nov is one of the quietest time of year to cruise, I posted this in another thread recently regarding Nov cruising. "Cruising is very cheap at this time of year, I got cruisedirects weekly email today (same offers on their homepage) 7 night carribean cruise next month for $299pp = £233pp incl tax or a 4 night crusie for $129pp = £140pp incl tax."

Thts cheap . I could wait but have heard people say the fuller it gets the more the price goes up. Would feel more secure booking i think. If they reduce the price do they apply it to the booking or is it up to me to contact them if theyvdo reduce it. May be worth cancelling and rebooking but to be honest im happy with the £1150. Thanks for ur advice. Not fussed on room location but think will plum for deck 6 or 7

If you book direct with Disney you have to ring to get price reduced, if you use a US agent they should check and notify you. I check every Monday afternoon when they update the website with latest prices. In all the cruises we have done we have never had a cruise reduced, they always go up for us.

Well I will just have to hope that we are one of those who like it then:) I don't have WDW or Florida on the agenda for a while so a 4 night cruse isn't an option. I want my Daughter to experience new things and we have to go to SF for our landmark challange. :)

I am sure you will love it, as I said just about everyone does. I think anyone not sure about cruising should do 4 nights to try it, anyone thinks they will like it almost certainly will.
The west coast is a great place to visit, been twice and would love to go back again sometime.
