? for AKL vets!!!

We've visited the AKL in the past but this August will be our first stay there. At the 60 day mark Friday MDE let me do on line check in. So we are booked in a standard view room ****** and 6 choices came up while doing the check in and I could pick 2. They had choices like ground floor, higher floor, and so on, but 1 of the choices was Kudu Trail. It was the only trail choice so I thought maybe there is something special on that trail for standard view rooms, maybe a partial savannah view is all I can guess.

So my question is does anybody know why that was the only trail listed in the check in?

Don't know why it's the only trail choice, but I selected kudu trail and near lobby I think and got a great room. We leave today...boo! We've had giraffes and antelope everyday and zebras and ostriches almost every day!

We stayed in a standard room in Kudo trail and still had a Savannah view. We were WAY down near the end and it was quite a hike from Mara and the pool. I loved our room and the view, but I would request something closer to the lobby next time.

Because that's what it glitched to today for you. I've gotten other trail choices. The room choices seem so haphazard.

I agree that it is luck of the draw. I personally would not specify that trail unless that is the one you prefer. Keep your options open if other things are important to you. For me at AKL the hallways are REEAALLLLYYY LONNNNG so my first and most important request is close to the lobby. All depends on what is important to you. I would also call in any requests you have ..Trail and room preference to maximize pixie dust

I THINK Kudo Trail is the only trail where all rooms have at least some view of the Savanna (even the "standard" rooms have this view. Some are partially obstructed and some are further away from the animals but that still beats a parking lot view). I don't mind the walk so I would choose that trail for that reason. But if location (close to lobby, etc) if your preference then that may not be the best choice. Both times I picked Kudo I got Kudo and thus got a view of animals from my balcony.
