I have already made Diaper Cakes and Padded Photo Albums but I am looking for more crafts to make for baby shower gifts...Anyone with any ideas?

Also looking for Wedding Shower Craft ideas...

I always buy something but I also bring a home made gift and they are becoming predictable...

Here is what I have made in the past...

I usually give new mom a box of Epsom salts to soak in, maybe a pretty container or jar with a small scoop to hold them? (I wouldn't add any fragance/colors to the salts in this case as they are to promote healing.)

Predictable is good....I hate change. They look great!:earsboy:

hmm, have you made Boo boo bunnies before? I got one of those with my first that someone had made and it actually came in real handy a bunch of times.

what about a shadow box that you fill in the items and leave room for pics to be added....

paint a nice piggy bank in the nursery colors

do you knit or crochet? those items are always wonderful to receive.

the diaper cake you made is awesome though and I'm sure much appreciate!

I don't know how you make them but my DD got a dozen roses made out of baby booties/socks. She also received diaper wipe containers both the big dispenser and travel size that were covered similar to the way the photo album is done. She absolutely loved them and uses them all the time.

Do you sew?

My typicaly baby gift is a hooded towel, made from a bath towel and a washcloth. I've even given these as gifts for 2nd and 3rd kids. Parents LOVE these.

The ones I make are similar to these. I used to make lots, but not so many now, it actually takes me about 10 minutes to "mentally figure it out" and about 3 minutes to sew them. (Right now, just not a lot of friends/relatives having babies.)

If you double click on the kid with the striped towel, you can see it a little better. If you want directions, please let me know. I won't be able to sit down and until tomorrow night or Monday. It really is only 3 seams.

thought of another one. A no sew tie fleece blanket. These are safe for infants to have and take less than an hour to make a baby blanket sized one.

For my nieces I made little wooden blocks with their names on it that they could hang on the wall...I had one wooden square (about 4 inches on each side) for each letter of their name and either painted the letter on, or got a wooden letter to glue on the square. Then I put little hooks on the top and bottom of the square and used colorful ribbon to connect them all together, so that the name started at the top and went down. Depending on how much work you're willing to put into it they can come out really nice looking.
