Yeah, Fess Parker was THE star of the opening ceremonies at Disneyland. He was filming the Davy Crockett keel boat episodes at the time. And this December marks the 60th anniversary of "Davy Crockett, Indian Fighter," the first of the original three episodes. And 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the Fess Parker Winery!
I just wonder how life would have been around here if he was able to get his Kentucky amusement park built. It was supposed to be another Disneyland.

I live about 15 minutes from the proposed park. Which was never built.
ETA...Looks like it was due to Kings Island being built about an hour north of his park. Still, too bad. Living down here, I would have spent a lot more time at Frontier Land. But maybe it's for the best. Growing up, I lived just north of Cincinnati and I worked for three summers at Kings Island.
