yup, those things. :lmao: they had removed them from our area a while back.

Oh wait. We still have the PA style ones...a 2 lane road to 2 lane road. (Rt. 77 & Rt. 40, still alive and well)

What we don't have anymore is the NJ Special: the multi-lane highway (Rt. 70 & 73 for example) circles. People have become such wusses. :rotfl:

did they finally take out all the jersey circles or is there still more of them?
I forget what town a few years back I had to drive to for a dance comp. and I hit one of those circles........ I thought they took them all out? :lmao:

Within the first hour of our drive from the Jersey Shore to I-295 in Cherry Hill, we hit two traffic circles. It used to be three but one was reconfigured a couple of years ago as a highway overpass.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Lol. That's it, the multi lane, 100 yard free for all circles!! Lol!!! I remember those things going to the shore when I was a kid. I think it was rt70. I haven't been on 70 in 35 years. Lol I have been wanting to take a ride to long beach island for the day just to check it out. Maybe in October when it's less crowded we will take a ride. Tammy and I got engaged at the old sea shell motel in beach haven. Lol. Went to wdw for our honeymoon and since then haven't gone back to the beach.

Hi. Just wondering what route you took down and about how much "stopping time" you think you had during the ride. Enjoy the rest of your trip, and don't feel sorry the drive is over, you still have the return trip to look forward to!

We always do 81/77/26/95 stopping time wise? I'd say 1-2 hours tops. Not even really. Twice for gas and then a few bathroom, leg stretch and food stops.

Glad you made safely. How did it look near Columbia on i26?

Not bad at all. There was construction in the area but zero stops or slow downs.

Hoping for that same scenario in the trip home!

There you go!!! We can have our own six lane, disney driving fan interstate!!! No speed limit!!! Lol oh what should we call it?? Lol

Well if we limit it to drivers on this discussion, it can be the "2000+ Mile Round Trip Drivers Only Expressway"!

Some circles in NJ have been removed, some modified and others are still in their full glory original state.

For those of you further north, do they still exist in the New England area? I forget if it was in MA or RI, or maybe both, that I encountered several years ago, but of course signage referred to them as a rotary.

is everyone going to the world!??!?!

i can't wait until out next drive in December to vgf. i am sooo homesick, lol.

i went on triptix the other day and 'timed' out various routes via I95 or bypassing I95 (NJ GSP, DE/MD/VA via 113 and 13).

on a different note, we are going to the "crayon" factory in september, which i think is near where dvczerf resides.

as for traffic circles, we have a few here --by prospect park in brooklyn and columbus circle nyc.

yes it is!!! 15 minutes down the road!!!! my older brother has been a molder at Crayola (binney and smith) since 1972. he is one of only a few people in the world that make Crayola crayons!! let me know what day your going to be there and if im not in florida we can meet for a quick hello!!
you are most likely going to what they call "the Crayola factory" which is not the factory where they make them. they show you in a non dangerous environment how they make crayons and its pretty cool. they are also building one in Orlando. if you look at any label on a Crayola crayon it will say made in Easton pa!! ask the guy who demonstrates how the crayons were made if he knows mick? (mick is my brother):lmao:
my uncle (my dads brother) and who is also my godfather was the plant manager for years. he has been retired for a good 20 years now so unless you talk to someone who has been there forever, they wouldn't know him.
have fun!!!!

im going to be hitting Columbia at around 8:30am on a Wednesday. were there lane restrictions?

Transportation used today (so far): monorail, launch, XP-37, doom buggy, People Mover and PotC boat! pirate:

All the best. :thumbsup2

forgot to mention........... tomorrow????????

hitting the teens!!!!! 19 days to go!!!! :dance3:

I wont be around to much the next couple days. in the office tomorrow, a lot of running on Friday, my 24th (give or take a year) birthday on Saturday and sitting on the sofa on sunday. :lmao:

Outstanding!!! How's that new people mover?

New People Mover? The only thing new is the exterior paint job on the structure.

[Now then...for hard core Galatcic Heroes on Buzz Lightyear's XP-37, when the ride stops at anytime, STOP shooting. Only scores with movement count!]

Gotta go...Wishes just started. Off to a balcony.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Ah, planning on taking the dgs this morning, if I get back to bed a few hours. Found pre-purchase tickets online :surfweb: $2.00 off. :thumbsup2
Haven't seen any other coupons.

Wave at dvczerf as we go by!:drive:

Nothing when we went through. If I remember, that was roughly 11 or 12ish on Sunday afternoon. We had zero issues with it.

Came thru Columbia on Tues. No closures. This was the first trip in a looong time with no traffic or construction delays. We travel Rt 429, I4 & 95 in FL, 95 thru GA and SC, Rt 26 to 77 in SC, then Rt77 to 19 to 79 in VA, WV, and PA. Total travel time Orlando to Pittsburgh was under 16 hours including gas and food stops. :)
