FoP FP might be getting easier to get...

Went to book FoP FP this morning. DS7 and I will be arriving Jan 8th but DW and the other three will not be coming down until the 10th, so I delayed booking FoP FP until their window opened this morning so we could all go together. Yesterday there were no FP in the morning but I could book several different slots for two people in the afternoon. Today, after some finagling around linking the two reservations, I was able to book FP for our whole party of 6 for just two days into their reservation (Jan 12th). Choices were open in the afternoon but I booked for evening after dinner.

Either FP is getting easier to come by for this ride, or lighter crowds in January, or some combination of both.

Could be time of year. By 1/8 most schools are finally back in session. The marathon is over. And the holiday season in the parks is over. And most parents are hesitant to take kids out the first week of the semester.

I decided to change my reservation to mid December instead of January. I was already well within the 60 day FP window (trip was 36 days out when I booked) and have gotten FPs for FOP for both of our AK days. I was honestly surprised.

Now BOG has been a different experience.

I had a similar ease with January 9th and 10th but only for the afternoon or evening. Mornings were all gone though so it could just mean that some times are easier to find during lower crowd periods.

Our FP window opens up this sunday for our trip on 1/12. hoping we get FPs also! I was worried about MLK weekend so this is a good sign.

I just realized several of the nights are party nights, so that may be affecting availability.

Think you pretty much covered the exact reasons. First week of Jan vs second week of Jan is going to be like apples and oranges. Seems like OP’s FP experience pretty much confirms it.

I recently tried to make FPs for FOP for a 12/30 trip at the 60 day mark. Only availability was late 1/2. I pretty much expected that given the time of year.

I didn't have any trouble getting FP for 9 of us on FOP at 11am Jan 10. It was the first FP I made. (ever -- lol)

I tried at the 60 day mark to get FOP for Jan 3rd or 4th with no luck. I had no trouble getting one back in July.
