FOP and heavier people worry....

We're taking our son to Disney in March, and his mom and I are heavier set people. I really worry we won't be able to fit on FOP. I've seen some videos of people trying the test seat, and it makes me think I'll be ok, but I'm not sure. I'm 5'9", 290lbs, 40 waist. Carry all of my weight up top, and really normal sized lower half. My wife carries a little more weight lower plus has big chest. What do you think our chances are? Thanks.

The biggest thing to check is calf size. If your calves are much larger than 21-22 inches, it could be dicey. Take a pair of flip flops to change into. It allows you to bend your feet more than sneakers will.

It really depends on how the weight is carried. On the other thread, a woman who wears a size 28 fit, but we had someone in our party that wears two sizes smaller and did not fit. Just try the test vehicle to get a better idea. Our whole party tried it, as some of the thinner people have back, knee and other issues and wanted to see if the ride would be comfortable for them. None of us felt embarassed while testing - we were just glad there was the opportunity to check it out before getting in line and being rejected.

I'm the same... 5'9" 250lb with a 40 inch waist and I had no problem at all. Like PP said, just try the test bike. For the most part you're just straddling a mini bike. It's the braces that come up behind that might be confining. WDW is very user friendly for big people. Six Flags on the other hand has many rides I struggle to get the seat belt fastened on.

Honestly, it sometimes seems to depend also on the CM working the ride rather than just body size. I saw a woman get ejected when the CM couldn't make the back support click one more time and the woman said she had just ridden the ride with no problem earlier that same day. This particular CM was much more intent on "squishing" the rider against the restraint as one of my DDs, not heavy but with a big chest, ended up being pressed pretty hard against the front restraint when this CM pushed on the back restraint to get another click. A previous ride with a different CM on a different day did not do this.
