Hiya, sorry me again! :)

We are going over in June half term and its likely to be wet and warm so I was wondering what kind of footwear would be best?

I think boots and socks will be too warm and I don't own trainers so do you think flip flops/sandals will be ok all day long in the rain? Is it safe getting on and off rides in flip flops?

And am i better off bringing wellies for the children?

Thanks for your help! :)

xx

I don't trust flipflops on rides in any theme park, so I'd go for sandals. Even if it rains, it will be warm rain :).

I wouldn't wear flip flops for any rides, guaranteed to go flying and you will have to then hop round :rotfl2:

I'm a trainers girl though, live in them!

If you don't want to buy any trainers then I'd go for flat sandals. I usually pack a pair of trainers just in case there's torrential rain but hopefully these stay in my case and I can wear my sandals - I've got two comfy old pairs of sandals that I keep just for my holidays as I know I can walk miles in them, one's a pair of Clarks and the other's a pair of Crocs Athens - both flipflop styles but enough of a shoe to give support IYKWIM.

Personally I wouldn't bring wellies for your children - too hot and not enough support. I'd bring trainers and sandals for them too. :)

For an upcoming trip this June I also wanted something that could get wet, be cooler than tennis shoes and socks and be comfortable. A friend recommended these:

I bought them, put them on and wore then two days in a row all day and was totally comfortable. usually new shoes need to be broken in - these were great from the beginning. They are waterproof as well but give great support.

Not inexpensive but...i figure I need good shoes to be comfortable!

I wear flip flops non stop in the summer - hoping it'll be warm enough in DLRP.

None of the rides in DLRP are dangly legged, so I wouldn't worry about them coming off.

And even with dangly leg rides in Florida (like Soarin', Harry potter) they were absolutely fine.

Also the benefit is they dry a lot faster than any other shoe!

I wear either FitFlops or Havainas.

I'm also taking Toms to DLRP as they are super comfy.

When I went in June I took sandals and boots with me. I had to wear the boots the one day because it rained non stop.

This time i'm doing the same even though i'm going in July. I'll be taking sandals and converse for the kids... I was going to take wellies for them too but I don't really want to have one case just full of shoes for us all  Think i'll leave their wellies out!

I agree with taking spares, just in case it gets wet. We always do this, but thankfully have never needed them.

I like sandals/Birkenstock for the summer/hot weather - but more often than not I'm in my trainers. :thumbsup2

i wear my fitflops or havainas whenever we have been there august sept time but even here in rainy scotland ive been wearing them over a month!

for the kids they usually wear their doodles sandals or trainers but their feet get really hot/wrinkly/sweaty in the trainers so last year it was just the doodles unless they changed at night.

have never had a problem on rides with flipflops.

hubby changes between trainers, sports sandals

when we went in winter we both just wore our timberlands...

years ago when i was a teenager and there in summer i wore sandals (not cool ones I might add!!!) but just flat soled sandals and I ended up with a very sore toe and numb!!! still isnt right and im 32 this year!!!!! :sad2:

should have said have also in past wore more casual trainers (not sporty ones) and have ended up in agony! massive blisters etc!!! that was may time so it was quite warm! and wore trainer socks with them...

i love my crocs!!!!!! thats what we will all be wearing here lol

but.... will also take a pair of trainers/pumps for the boys and a pair of tie ankle wedges for me.....

i am banking on sun.... NO rain lol *fingers in ears* SUN SUN SUN SUN lol

We all take trainers and sandals too and wear whichever seems appropriate for the weather on the day. :)

We don't own sandals as such. So, I will take trainers (Nike, well worn and very comfortable) and crocs. I will also take (travel in) my FLY London knee high boots which are the most comfortable thing ever - even in summer at times!

The girls will have Crocs (I bought them both Mickey mouse ones (head are the holes) recently and a fab retro Mickey jibbitz thing each specifically for this trip!) and trainers.

My only concern is if the trainers get soaked, the girls don't have another 'wet weather' alternative...

We are flying so don't have the option to take too many different shoes! It's probably just as well we don't drive as I'd be packing the kitchen sink :lmao:.

i think its gonna b warm rain so crocs wud b better as dry out quicker - least thats what im working on.... and then can always change to trainers end of day....

Oh no is rain forecast? I was gonna pack vans and a pair of Nike trainers.... And possibly get white or pink converse.... But my vans don't have good grip in the rain and the last thing I want to do is fall!
