There is NOTHING in this world like the first game of the season in a small Georgia town! Our first game is tonight and anyone who's anybody in the big town of Hawkinsville will be at that stadium tonight yelling for the Red Devils! (Which as you can imagine really bothers the preachers - especially the one's who's kids are cheerleaders "Go Devils, Go!")

Before the game starts the "Jr. Drill Team" made up of 75 little girls from 3 to 11 years old will perform - - yes, that's probably 50% of the little girls in that age in our whole town!! Then the drum cadence will start, the band will come in and march ALL the way around the track and stop at the 50 to play the National Anthem. And since 9/11 we've usually had a prayer to - to hell with the Supreme Court!! Then captains meet in the center of the field and flip the coin. The big banners go up, the cheerleaders pile on top of each other and the team breaks through with a roar and the Fight Song! And then the best entertainment in the world - small town football. A brief intermission to watch the battle of the bands and soon the game is over. Win or lose - it's a glorious night in the South!!

This is Becca's second year as Drum Major. I can't believe it's already been a year since she first made it! Ya'll wish us luck - we're playing a AAA team and we're only A - but we're picked to win!!

Sounds GREAT.................except for the prayer;) ;) ;) ......

GO DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

actually, EROS loves devils much more than angels;) ..........

Our town's team is the Rebels. Anybody who is anyone in this town will be there too. I'm home. LOL

DH loves high school football. He never misses a game unless he is at the Fire Dept. He will be at one of the county games instead of the city games. He's a nobody too. ;)

Good luck to your daughter, Debbie. The last HS football game I went to was to see one of my clients who was the Drum Major at school. I was so proud of her! I can only imagine how the momma feels!! I hope you all have a great season. :D

With a DS in Band, we will be leaving for the game soon. There's not much else to do in TX on a Friday night in the fall. Everyones at the game:D GO ROCK!

Have a GREAT time, Debbie!!

But I really wanted to CONGRATULATE you on your fantastic weight loss!! Wow, almost 60 lbs!!

I have been following your progress in your signature . . . Keep up the great job!!

Cool Debbie!! :)

We're actually having big time college football here tonight. . kind of anyway. . .

My beloved Tulsa Hurricane will be hosting the mighty Oklahoma Sooners. . . I'm not sure the scoreboard will able to handle the points the Sooners will likely run up. . :o

Good luck to your daughters team Debbie!! :)

Well - It was an AWESOME show!!! Our band really showed them up - they were much bigger and had a great sound - but a boring show and their auxillaries crouched on the sidelines for half of it!

Oh - and we won the game too!!!

Hope everyone else's team did as well!

And thanks for the weight loss comments! I've had a VERY SLOW summer - but "recomitted" myself a few weeks ago and have gotten moving on it again!
