Foot Detox Pad Thingee's / Detoxing

I can not get that out of my brain!

You can't deny that those people must feel great! How could they not?????

Former nurse here who has seen colons up close and in person (in the OR).
There is nothing in there. Nothing to get out aside from what comes out naturally. The body already has a detoxifyer -the liver

I think all of this "feel better naturally" stuff is kinda sad. I'm sure there is a tiny perentage that is legit, but for the most part it is a bunch of people throwing money away. In the worst cases it is someone not getting treatment for a real medical condition.

I have a friend that totally falls for all of it. Her kids actually miss school to do colon cleanses. She spends a couple of hundred dollars a month on vitamins. She also believes that there is a cure for cancer, but the government it keeping it from us.:dance3:

double post. I don't know why it keeps doing that.

Bolding mine. OMG! :rotfl2:

I'm glad you had to clarify WHERE you've seen colons up close. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: : I'm not sure where else one would run into the chance to see a colon. :lmao: :lmao:

One was a strainer from the kitchen! I really hope they did not use that again for pasta.:rolleyes1
That's what I was thinking! :scared1: :crazy2: Remind me not to accept any dinner invitations from Carl from Canada.

I got linked to this thread through another one.
THIS is the reason why I shouldn't DIS while being "at work" at the client's site. They really think I am completely crazy now, because I can't stop laughing!
Worst thing: I didn't even see the gross pictures, that site is blocked. Will look at them tonight at home!

It's indeed gross.
But the only thing I can think of now is: is that also inside me???? that's just plain scary!

The only time you should clean out your colon is when the doc tells you to. And when he does, he'll give you a script for GoLightly or NuLightly or pills or whatever.

I've seen all kinds of poopie crap (even seen people vomit poop :) ) and never once have I heard a doc recommend a Colon Cleanse or any of that crap.

Aren't you glad I clarified that?:)
Can you imagine responses I would have gotten if I had just left that off??;)

lol ... funny you should mention that. I just had to do halflightly for a colonoscopy (they are trying to find out why I am anemic).

It was so grooooosssssssssss

After having my insides cleaned out in such a thorough manner, I cannot understand why a person would voluntarily elect to undergo a "cleanse".

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy all at once (the nurse called it "a double" :lmao: ) and believe you me, the actual process of getting probed end to end was NOTHING compared to the horrible experience of being "cleansed".

Let's just say that at the end of the bowel prep, I was pooping pure water. Yes folks, my bowel prep proved to me that there is absolutely no hardened "stuff" inside of us clinging to our intestinal walls. Nothing resembling that came out ... just poop and more poop and eventually, water.

I did read that some of those cleanse products contain some kind of heavy-duty fiber that actually clings to the intestines. When it's expelled, people mistakenly believe it was inside of them for years ... :rotfl:

Hmm, good to know, so I won't have to go through the whole cleanse thing!

Actually, I once read that the body has its own ways of getting cleaned, and that many of those artificial cleanses are not necessary. Of courses, when one abuses its body by drinking way too much alcohol or living on a chocoalte or French fries diet ;) it might be necessary to intervene, but people who live "healthy" shouldn't worry too much.

I am not surprised that those foot detox thingies are a scam. When I saw a commercial for the pads, DH & I both though that there was something in them that would change color when exposed to air and they weren't actually "pulling out toxins".

And those colon cleanse people displaying their turds? Uh, most of the so-called dookies looked like brown dreadlocks dunked in the bowl or chicken/turkey innards. At least, I have never seen a poop that looked like that. And I've seen poop, both human and dog!

I haven't seen something like that either. I wonder if it hurts...

I never thought btw that I would be so intrigued by poop... amaing what the DIS can do...

Well, now I have to thank you all for the best chuckle I've had in a long time....:rotfl:

Not only did I read this whole thread , I actually read the whole page for the Colon Cleanse! What does this say about me?!?!?

OK, nobody here has said anything about watching your own colonoscopy. After the nasty doctor-prescribed cleansing routine, you go in for your colonoscopy and they give you a nice little medication through the IV to relax you. Then the doc does the colonoscopy and watches the results on the screen. I started watching it, too. Totally clean, glistening, pink, and healthy. Then I made a comment.
The doc says, "You didn't give her enough." The picture starts to waver and the next thing I know, I'm in the recovery room and my DH is asking how I feel.
Hang on a minute. The doc says that all they did was remove a little polyp, but what the heck? They don't want an audience?
Anyway, nothing dreaded came out as a result of the cleansing, and nothing gross inhabited my colon except a harmless little polyp.
BTW, only a masochist would go for a cleansing voluntarily. That stuff you drink makes you gag. Not to mention the spasms it puts your insides into.
You want to cleanse your system? Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Your body will do the rest. Painlessly.

So very untrue.. I wont go into more details but I drink about a gallon of water a day :rolleyes1

Then I guess you should order the plan. Maybe the addition of CLAY (which absorbs 40 times it's weight in "toxins") will help. :rotfl:

Did anyone else read the list of ingredients? What we're seeing in the after photos is all of the clay and grassy herbs in the pills. And how about the warnings about drinking enough water to prevent choking?
