foods you used to love but can't find anymore

Oh man, I can't remember the name but I know I bought some a couple of years ago to show my kids. It was still good!!!

I miss Dutch Apple pop-tarts:sad2: They were my favorite! I also loved Quisp cereal-wonder if I would still like it, lol. There was also this awesome hard candy my brother used to buy for me. It was Royal something sour cherry. It was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!! Oh also, PDQ was great1

Regal Crown Sour Cherry! I haven't seen those in years. My dad used to always have roll in his pocket. I think they were British.

I thought of another one. I used to love Andy Capp fries when they came in the original plain variety. Now they only come in hot/cheddar/BBQ flavors. I really miss those!

Regal Crown!! That's it. Bummer, I did a search-they don't make them anymore:mad:

Mine are definitely:

Frosted Krispies
Tio Sancho Microwave Nachos
Chicken Helper Broccoli and Cheddar

Last time I was in NY, I discovered tortonis. You can't get tortonis down here and I'm OBSSESSED! I tried to find a place online to ship to me, but they only seem to have the rum ice cream/macaroon ones, and I love the almond!

I did find some recipes that sound right, so I guess I'll have to break down and try to make it myself!

Is Monster in the green can still out there? My mom's hit every mini mart, drug store and grocery place trying to find these.

Remember Vellamints?

Oooh, Velamints! I used to love their black licorice flavored ones, and the chocolate ones were surprisingly tasty as well! Wow, I remember my mom eating those constantly when we were little....I wonder if any place still carries 'em? I know I got the chocolate ones at Walgreens a few years back.

purplesauraus rex kool aid!

anyone else remember when fruit roll ups came in tons of flavors? they had grape, cherry, and apples and cinnamon - that apples and cinnamon one was the best!

OMG, I had forgotten all about Apples 'n' Cinnamon Fruit Rollups, but as soon as you mentioned it, I could seriously taste them! I LOVED those things...the cherry ones, too.

Wow, that was weird.

I used to love those mystery ball things. They were chocolate balls with little Disney Character candies inside. I miss those and haven't seen them ANYWHERE for awhile.

i think disney bought them all up for the disney cruises:rotfl2: when we did a halloween cruise they had about 10 trick or treat stations set up on the deck and the ONLY treat were those things. by the end of the night the place and the hallways was littered with shattered chocolate orbs because most of the kids only wanted the candies inside.

i've seen choc-o-diles at the hostess outlets.

for those who love some of the discontinued restaurant/fast food items (as well as some current ones) try the 'top secret recipie' books by todd wilbur. they have TONS of recipies (including some packaged items like the hostess stuff)-every item we've tried from the books tastes identical to the original (the olive garden stuff is letter perfect:thumbsup2 ).

not that i 'loved' it, but when dd was into watching the old pink panther cartoons i wished i could find a box of 'pink panther flakes'-they were like small corn flakes with pink frosting. we had count chocula, frankenberry and boo berry at the walmart where we used to live-i was surprised one day to see 'quisp' but not his partner 'quake':guilty:

Lemon Coolers - They were cookies that came in a green box. They might have been by Nabisco. I haven't seen them in years.

YUM ! Weren't these covered in like powdered sugar, too?

Now I'm really getting hungry !

My mom used to get these Slim Fast breakfast bars in several flavors. The two best were peanut butter and chocolate and Dutch chocolate. They still make the bars, but not in the same flavors. God, those were better than candy...my mom always got mad at me for nicking them.

Nabisco Swiss Cheese crackers. They didn't taste like swiss cheese, but they were soooooo good!

My favorites were:

Dipsy cups (I don't remember who made them, maybe Hostess)
Nib-its snacks
Clorets mints
Nabisco Hey Day Bars

I think I am showing my age with this list !

Souper Combos

Freezer section

Made my Campbell's I think. Each came with a half sandwich or eggroll and a plastic cup of soup. I remember tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwich and chicken noodle soup with an egg roll. There was some kind of soup that came with ham and cheese on a croissant, too.

I know I've seen several of the things listed here recently!

Hogfan - Ukrops sells Bugles
CVS sells Munchos
Dollar Tree sells Screaming Yellow Zonkers occasionally
I just saw the flavored Peanut Butter at WalMart

Why do I know the location of so much junk food? :rotfl:

There is one rice mix that DW Lauri LOVED so much that's been discontinued. She could eat just a bowl of the stuff for dinner and be happy. It was made by Lipton (you know, those pouches of rice and sauce mix that are usually about $1.50?) It was the Parmesan Chicken Rice Risotto mix. If I ever saw that stuff on the shelf I would buy the entire stock!

Kroger sells flavored peanut butter too. I just bought some cinnamon raisin PB. Good stuff.

I wish they would just bring back Dunkin Donuts PERIOD here! They closed down all but one Dunkin Donuts that is way on the other side of town. I have no idea why. There isn't a donut shop anywhere on this side of town unless you get them at the grocery store.

They just opened up a brand new DD in Chester. Saw it the other day.
