With food prices rising like crazy, It seems like people are trying to stock pile. What are some foods that you freeze? That others might not have thought about freezing

In my freezer now (foods that aren't in the freezer at the grocery store):

Coffee
Butter
Bread
Milk
Pre-scrambled eggs

I freeze most of the stuff on the lists that are listed but also I freeze OJ when I find it on sale.

How do you freeze apple slices?

My husband freezes dough and then bakes it later when we want bread. He also half-way bakes the bread and freezes it. Then when we want to eat it, we nuke it to defrost it and bake it the rest of the way.

Don't know if you're a gardener or not, but I make tons of pesto with fresh basil from my garden and freeze it in the ice cube trays and then transfer it over to airtight ziplocks. (Also do it with plain basil and cilantro and diced Jalapenos) All these freeze really well and last until NEXT year's garden. I also use all my leftover chicken or turkey bones and make up a TON of broth that I freeze. I NEVER EVER buy broth anymore. I also make my own breadcrumbs with leftover biscuits and bread 'heels'.....I've been saving a bunch by doing all this.

Grapes! there even better frozen. They seem to have a pretty long freeze life. My best freinds daughter was making us dinner and found one that had rolled away and ate it. I havent had frozen grapes in 4 months:scared1: She told me it still tasted good

Does anone know if you can freee litters of pop?

Soda? Why would you even need to freeze it? :confused3 I'm sure you could leave it on a shelf for a very long time with not much happening to it.

I wouldn't. DH put one in the freezer once to chill it faster and forgot about it. When he took it out, and it started to thaw, it exploded in the sink and we had sticky soda to clean off the ceiling and everything else.

:rolleyes::sad2:

The soda is a no go, It will explode just before actually freezing and spray cola everywhere inside the freezer. I like the egg idea. I don't cook much so keeping fresh eggs is out, even the little cartons of egg beaters go to waste, I like the idea of using egg cubes.
