Hello Friends!

You all have been so helpful so far so I have another question for you. I'm currently going through the painstaking process of figuring out an estimated cost of food while we are at Disney to decide if we want to keep or cancel our dining plan. We will be there during the Food & Wine Festival and plan to enjoy that on our last day. My question is for those of you that have gone...how much do you "fill up" on food? We are planning to start our day with Tusker House breakfast, grab a turkey leg or something else quick for lunch and then head to the Festival around 5:00 or so. I should mention two things...it will just be my husband and I, and we also plan on "drinking around the world". Is it enough sampling without having to worry about dinner? Or do you recommend making a late dinner reservation also?

Any advice you can give me will be helpful since I haven't been before! We don't want to be overbooked and overeat, but I also don't want to assume we will get enough to eat and be starving at 9:00 and stuck without a nice dinner for our last night. Thanks for your help!

TH is going to fill you up.

If you definitely want to do TH, I would skip the Turkey leg. Get to Epcot around 1 or so and then drink and snack

Best option(IMO) will be to have a light breakfast and get to World Showcase around 11 when it opens and snack all day.

there will be plenty of options. You will not eat everything in just one day. Even with someone.

OP, it will be just my dh and I too. As of right now I have the dining plan booked because I plan to use my CS credits at F&W. Our plan is to skip breakfast and snack early in the day. I have late dinner ADRs (after 8PM) every night.
However I'm not sure these are my final plans, I'm waiting to see what the F&W premium package offers this year. If it looks good may get that, cancel the dining plan and pay OOP for any full meals we do.

IMHO:
Plan your TH for another day.
Get to EPCOT early and snack all day.
DW & I have gone around WS three times in one day and still not hit every option there is to eat at.

Last year I had only two meals for a 4 night/5 day trip to F&W. I had tea one afternoon at GF because I must and had dinner one night at HBD, because I love their Cobb salad. Other than breakfast, which is normally either a kid's bounty platter type thing or a muffin, all my eating took place at F&W. I was solo and it took all I had to get to every booth, that was going to Epcot every single day (I have an AP so was park hopping). There were some cases where I had to get a drink from a booth because I was just too full to eat another thing and some cases all I got was a dessert. This year for F&G, my son and I (grown man) did most of our eating at the booths, even sharing we were just able to get to them all and they don't have as many for F&G. We would both get one thing at each booth and share. Usually we would only get one drink and share that with me being the water bearer, I always had a bottle or cup of water in my hand. We were there for 5 nights/6 days. We had a full breakfast 3 days at Dolphin otherwise it was just muffins or something, had tea at GF (again I must) had a lunch at Skipper's Canteen on a whim one day, dinner at HBD (I'm addicted to that salad) dinner the first night we were there at Chefs de France real late, around 8:30, and grabbed a lupper (late lunch early supper) one day on the fly at Spice Roads (mostly cause he likes their beer selection). All other meals were at the booths.

Wow, I am so glad I asked this question! This is a quick trip for us, only two days for our wedding anniversary, so we are packing a lot in. We got the dining plan, thinking it would help us when we pay for our anniversary dinner at Cali Grill, but after doing some meal planning yesterday and hearing your feedback, I'm thinking we might cancel our dining plan and use that money towards the F&W packages instead. Anyone know when they typically release the schedule/package options for F&W?

I went during the F and W festival in 2013. It was so much fun! I only made it about 1/3 of the way around before I was full! I would recommend that you look at menus before you go and decide some of the snacks that you'd like to try.
